Game Thread Spurs (8-2) vs Warriors (6-6) (Wed 11/12/25) [7:00PM CDT]

Fuck the Warriors. Hope they blow these geezers out in both games

Dang. It feels like Horford has been playing since I was a toddler. I remember wanting him on our team back when he was a Hawk. At least he is doing good work to collect his check. Too many players don't put forth that kind of effort
Haven't watched the Warriors much, so will be interesting to watch them B2B to see how they function this year.

Horford seems like he was tailor suited for his role in Boston...not sure how he fits with Golden States pace and space system.

I'm very interested to see how Draymond defends Wemby and what schemes the Dubs run defensively.
Gotta get both of these wins.

Warriors gonna come out angry & motivated after that shellacking at the hands of OKC. Jimmy Butler will be in his prime FT merchant mode & keep Wemby in foul trouble.

Dubs takes the W.
They're in B2B, and they're old. If they win a game, it should be the second one.

The guy was drafted the same year as Greg Oden, Joakim Noah and Marco Belinelli, so I get what you're saying:LOL:

I remember watching those Gator teams win back to back 06 & 07. Brewer/Noah/Horford was a pretty historic trio.

There were a few tourney rounds in SA during that era. A Sweet 16 in 2007 where I saw Ohio State with Oden and Conley Jr and Acie Law IV with A&M. Then 2008 had the Final Four round at the Alamodome with D Rose and Mario Chalmers. Old Mike Conley still going after all those years, pretty impressive even if he's about done now. Just remembering how Calpari and Rose got Memphis vacated from even participating in 2008. But yeah, Horford's longevity has been truly remarkable.

The warriors are like a really old Grizzly bear- unlikely to last past the next few seasons but still dangerous.

Great opportunity to crush these guys spirits and push them up the loss column. Wouldn’t be surprised if we’re neck and neck with them in the standings in April.

Need a big game from our bigs, including Jeremy. Have to impose our will down low.

I never understood why he was called Enrique
Enrique Iglesias had a song called "Hero", with the chorus "I can be your hero, babyyyyy!!!", supposedly what TP had in mind when trying to take over games.

Don't ask me why I know the song. haha

OKC looks like the only thing that will stop them from going back to back is a bad injury.
Eh. Denver took them to 7 with MPJ playing with one arm and gordon playing on one leg. Pacers took them to 7 and might have won the chip if their franchise player didn't get hurt.

They had one of the least dominant playoff runs in recent memory. Don't know why everyone is so afraid of them. If Gordon and MPJ are healthy Denver would have knocked them off in 6. Let's see them get that lucky again this year.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Warriors "punt" this game tonight and go all out for the Cup game on Friday night. I could see Kerr sitting the big guys tonight and trying to reset the locker room/expectations. Issue is we've seen the Spurs play down to the talent level of some other teams (Pels x2, Nets, Suns, Bulls) and have nail biter finishes in games that we should've won handily. I would really love to see a wire to wire comfortable win with lineups that make sense throughout.

Weird things happen in the playoffs sometimes, especially in the era of 3 point variance. 08 Celtics got taken to 7 in the 1st round against the Hawks, 14 Spurs almost got sent home in the 1st round against the Mavs, sometimes it be like that. Both were still absolutely juggernaut teams that played dominant basketball (with SRS and margin of victory to match) for 8 months straight. OKC was dominant last year, too.

OKC last year won 68 games weren't even crazy healthy (Chet/IHart missed significant time). They are poised to do similar this year: they are 6-1 on the road already and are playing like a machine without their 2nd best guy and with Dort and Chet in and out of the lineup.

I still see a glimmer of hope if the Spurs come together like I think is possible (if we integrate Harper, Fox and Castle and Wemby fulfills his MVP level potential), we are probably 1 year early but it could be some fun match ups.

OKC was cold from 3 during the playoffs and still won the title

they were 13th out of the 16 playoff team in postseason 3pt shooting at 33.8%. thats after being 6th best team in the regular season in that same stat

Who cares how cold you are from 3 when you playing a team where one player can't sprint and one player can't raise both his arms? And both of those players are playing half the game or more?

Who cares how could you are from 3 when the other teams franchise player gets hurt and can't play?

if OKC was that good they should have crushed Denver with those injuries to Gordon and MPJ. 2014 spurs or the Durant warriors would have swept that denver team in 4 winning every game by 20.

And yeah, most teams 3 point shooting percentage goes down in the playoffs due to playing better teams. No more 14 win spurs to play in the playoffs that you can shoot 65% from 3 again.

2014 Spurs got taken to 7 games in the first round by the cadaver of Vince Carter, please stop.
