That actually tracks with the fact that they only have three losses, but are 14th in net rating. Their expected wins are three less than the wins they have already.

The lakers are 17-7 now but their net rating has their expected record at 13-11.

Before that 47-35 vs 42-40
43-39 vs 42-40
The it’s the same record vs expected record the the two years prior.

It’s rare for a team to outperform their expected record by 5 or 6 games. Let alone doing it three years in a row.
