Game Thread Spurs (9-4) vs Grizzlies (4-10) (Tue 11/18/25) [7:00PM CDT]

I thought Jeremy played stout one-on-one interior defense against Landale and Jackson Jr in the 4th. They clearly wanted to attack him and go at him with the clear size advantage, but he defender both guys extremely.

The team is gonna need a lot more gritty, tough-minded wins with all the young guys out. Hopefully, every can step up and play together in the meantime.

Great win and Go Spurs, Go!

Mr Body changing his name and hiding his identity only to out himself with his atrocious takes and Fox hate is hilarious

the only true confirmation of this will be if they have a pages-long meltdown because someone said euroleague is better than college hoops

Let's be honest, guys. If Unc didn't go wild at the end of the game, we lose. Can't expect that shit going forward. Be really nice if CB could hit some 3s. He got one, awesome. But ehhh...

A win is a win.

Mr 100 percent closing out games, I still think this is a pretty good Spurs team. Just need to not lose to trash like golden state.
I love Sean, but it was good to not have to hear Mr. 100% all the time during the game. I'd like Sean to use that phrase a little less.
I don’t think it was a good win. But it was a win. This was a loss against about 20 teams. We survived because Memphis was simply more inept than we were and didn’t have a clutch scorer like we did with Barnes.

Foxs first half was awful and we aren’t surviving that against most
Yeah, you're right I think. Can't believe how badly the Spurs were smashed on the boards, but that was to be expected with no big men outside of Kornet. Looks like Kornet is showing why he was a 20 minute per game player with the Celtics.

As for De'Aaron, I was not happy with his first half. I was even starting to wonder if he's already declining. No idea what it is, if he's still rusty or trying to fit in (a mentality issue), but in any case, the Spurs are paying him to be a 1b. option, not a 3b. I don't know what he's doing, but listening to what he said in some of the previous games, he's sort of talking like he's option 3b. If he wants to be a role player, he needs to tear up that contract and give the money back to the Spurs and sign a lesser contract. He was very good in the 3rd quarter, got more aggressive, but I'm not sure what he's trying to do. He's being paid to be a top option, not a role player that fits in.

I actually thought that given the injuries on both teams, there was quite some good basketball being played on both sides. Sure, some of the shooting and finishing was rough (the Grizzlies missed 62 shot, yikes!), but overall, I kind of enjoyed this game. Maybe it's the masochist in me, I don't know.

Right now is just about putting a win, any win, in the bank to stay afloat until we get our guys back. . Would be massive if we can steal the Hawks game (home games are always up for grab even when short-handed, see last season vs OKC in Cup game), then hopefully split one Blazers/Suns games and call it a good stretch (at Denver at Minny are gonna be blow out losses IMO).

Said it a week ago, Memphis firing Taylor Jenkins is easily the worst coaching move in the league since when the Kings canned Mike Malone just as he was about to turn around that franchise

I thought Jenkins was an elite floor raiser who transformed the Grizz into a regular season winning machine no matter who gets trotted out court and in spite of the glaring flaws of 3rd tier stars like Morant & JJJ which ended up capping the team playoffs' ceiling..I expect him to land on his feet in a good place soon (I'm guessing Orlando Magic)

Wow, a veteran player made plays. That never happens to win games in this league.

Not sure why this is a bad thing. This happens every single night in the NBA.

Not only that but when it happens against us people are like we suck we let insert old veteran name here go off.

But when it happens for us it's we can't count on that if this guy who starts and we are paying 19 million to didn't play like he makes 19 million we would have loss so technically it doesn't count that we won :st-lol:

LMAO bro no one expected Barnes to score what? 7 straight points for us?

Shit isn't going to happen alot.

Glad we were on the winning side of a TOSB for once.

Just finished the 2nd half, loving the vibes on this team in the 4th. Gotta win these type of games if you wanna stay relevant while our troops heal up.

Olynyk looks like he can provide a nice little wrinkle too

Sochan distracted and annoyed Jackson to no end, in particular, during his stints and then both of them in the fourth. The look on Jackson's face when Jeremy drew the offensive foul on him in the fourth was worth the price of admission.

Well I found myself, thankfully, saying 'Mr. 100%' more than Sean does. Haha. I'm biased when it comes to Sean and laugh every time he says that. As for Fox, yes he was much better in the second half, but he can't play like a role player. I think his play in the last two minutes of the last GSW might have shaken his psyche.
