Game Thread Spurs (13-6) vs Grizzlies (9-12) (Tue 12/2/25) [7:00PM CDT]

Really need to win this one with the tough upcoming stretch tbh. Next 10 games on the schedule (unless we beat the lakers and advance to the NBA Cup Semifinals) are:

@ ORL
@ CLE
@ NOLA
@ LAL (NBA Cup Quarterfinals)
vs. WAS
@ ATL
@ WAS
vs. OKC
@ OKC
vs. UTA

Those are not the next 10 games. @Lakers cup game and then 1 or 2 games are still not scheduled depending on if we advance or not

Highlights from the Spurs v. Grizzlies game 2 weeks ago. Spurs went on that crazy 10-0 run to close the game and win by 10, but it was a competitive game throughout. Memphis always gives us a tough game. Guys need to bounce back after last night's ugly 4th Qtr and loss to the T-pups

Pretty wild that we landed with a stretch of 8 of 9 (and 10 of 12) on the road outside of the RRT.

Ja, Pippen Jr and Ty Jerome all out for MEM, which is good for us. Landale questionable... possibly also good for us.

Edey has completely transformed Memphis season since he’s been back. His advanced numbers are through the roof on both ends. So they are better than their record when he’s playing, will be a tough one for the Spurs to win.

Darn, Spurs aren't that good of three point shooting team despite some of the guys shooting better than they normally do in this too small sample size to base anything off. I don't think I wanted to see that. What happens if Devin, KJ, Champ cool off?

Why do the Spurs have so many road games in this stretch?

I'm planning a trip to SA in March to catch all 5 home games, but it does seem they have more 4+ home game stands this year than years prior. Weird schedule indeed.

With the stopover in Austin and then the AS break, it’s really not been the RRT of the Tim, Tony, and Manu era. This is it—we’re in the new Road Warriors, building the team portion of the season right now. I’ll repost the graphics here. It’s way more demanding than the toughest stretches of the old RRT, in my opinion.Oh yeah, if we beat LA, that means the road trip extends with a Las Vegas tour right in the middle of it.

We're not yet halfway through.

This Years RRT.

A .500 record during this stretch would be ideal, especially with four winnable games lined up. Taking down LA in the Eliminator is crucial, pushing the total to five wins. After that, there are at least eight road games ahead, not including possible Emirates Cup action. The Spurs could end up topping .500 depending on how the Emirates Cup goes.

This won't be easy. Edey return has brought Memphis back to respectability from early season bottom-dwellers status..

Longer road trips and longer home stands reduces overall travel. That was one of Silver's priorities.

Having 2 games against the same opponent in the same arena in 3 days really helps with that too. Only have to travel to an opponent's city once per season.

Spurs will take memphis game and have a good shot at beating magic in orlando even though its a B2B. Magic are getting killed by Bulls right now with fast break and G/F bullying defenders to paint on drives. gotta hope 3pt shooting for the good guys will be better. Magic giving up alot of corners 3s.

Nuggets lost, Rockets lost and Lakers are losing. Feels good man.

What a great night of basketball for the Spurs: Rockets, Denver, Lakers all losing..Keeping pace with those teams with Wemby missing 8 games is pretty impressive, tbh

Idk the Spurs of the past would follow up this with a loss of their own. Hope they bring it against Memphis.

Would be good to create some separation between Phoenix and GS to ensure that top 6 playoff spot is secured. Getting into the playoffs and having at least 1 competitive series and winning a couple playoff games should be this years minimum target for the Spurs in their pathway to contendership.

Phoenix has a really tough run coming up hopefully they can stack a few L’s. Golden State is without Curry so should get a few L’s too.

Still early tho.
