Game Thread Spurs (15-6) @ Cavs (13-10) (Fri 12/5/25) [6:30PM CDT]

If Kornet is gonna be out long term again the Spurs have to acquire another big tbh. It'd be roster malpractice otherwise. This team literally can't function on defense without a center; they'll be carved up by even the worst NBA teams. I mean shit, this Cavs squad was playing mostly G-leaguers tonight and they got to the rim and scored at will.
Yeah, but Bismack Sings scream 'WHOA' like HONEY in the Miley Cirus Thingy they do before the games...
Sets the Song off
And the way he attacks the YEAH's

So, I put my hands up
They're playing my song, the butterflies fly away
I'm nodding my head like, yeah

Go straight to the airport and get out of this hellhole. Get ready for NOP on Monday.
Feel like hopping on a flight (on a flight)
Back to my hometown tonight (town tonight)
Something stops me every time (every time)
The DJ plays my song and I feel alright.

Yeah, it's a party in the U.S.A.

If the Spurs don't have Wemby or Kornet on Monday against the Pelicans they're gonna lose that one too.
Yep, they were threatening to steal both games this season. Feels like they are due one. Plus, if Wemby doesn't suit up for this one, i don't think it is advisable to throw him straight into a high-intensity Cup game after a long layoff. Might as well rest up until Christmas at this point. If a supposedly minor calf strain that didn't require a boot or compression sleeve hasn't healed after 24 days, then maybe it was more serious than initially diagnosed.

Are we sure he didn't lose the leg tbh?

Not panicking Robz, but some of these muscle strains are related to blood circulation (Lillard's case), and with Wemby's blood clot occurrence, they may be just taking their their sweet time monitoring the whole thing. Understandable.tbh

If Mitch runs the same lineups, we’re losing that one too, even if Harper doesn’t mess his diapers again. And if he does, all the ROOK stans are going to scapegoat Fox and Devin anyway—it’s a devotion those guys have for Harper.
Why would you not have Harper devotion? I don’t think excusing Harper as a rookie is mutually exclusive to scapegoating Fox or Devin.

Devin’s been the scapegoat his whole career.

I’m firmly in the don’t trade Vassell group.

Don't disagree tbh. Sure its on the back of everyone's mind here too. Spurs need to be more open about what's going on with these injuries, though we know that'll never happen

Grade 1 is 2-4 weeks so he is still within that period

You can only stay afloat while undermanned for so long.. This group has done a remarkable job of it the past couple of weeks. We need Wemby and Castle back soon; otherwise expect more nights like this and more Ls especially on the road
Castle and Wemby need to play in NO. There vacation is over we all know they have been ready to play for days. Tune up game for Lakers in season tourney game.

Down to 1 pt lead -.-
This stretch here is where they lost the game. Can't keep coming out and giving up leads on the road. They had close to two ten points leads and got one back, but letting Cleveland back in it at the start of the third, game was over.

Got to get a better 3rd string Center. Spurs are toast if they don't do something soon. Huge mistake not upgrading that spot in the offseason. I even said, Luke appears to have played low minutes in his career, so we don't know how he'll hold up playing more minutes than he's accustomed to. Looks like he's not holding up too well. How did the Spurs not make getting a better backup big than BB a priority?

Thank you, doctor, for your advice the other day, but I've tried to move on, yet I'm still just as depressed. Any other suggestions? Maybe stop telling me bullshit and take illnesses seriously?

This was embarassing. Worst game of the season. I can understand that we have to play small without Kornet but if you are the defacto center at least position yourself where a center should be. If the opponents players lay the ball up over you fine but this free lane to the basket was horrible to watch.

And Dylan Harper man ... this loss is 50% your fault. Your dad was embarassed. Ship his ass to Milwaukee for all I care. End of overreaction

Darn, I was upset too. I was actually thinking during that game that Dylan played so bad because he was trying to impress his dad, but then I remembered, his dad has watched him play before live and that didn't affect him. You think it was just more fatigue/played a bad game. He had some good passes to Sochan and other players, but Sochan keeps fucking up a lot of the time.

I'm starting to get a bit worried about Luke's reliability. I love the guy when he plays, but I said it weeks ago that he's never played big minutes and the Spurs should have had that in mind when signing him. You've got Victor, who we were not sure about if he'll miss games, and then you get a backup that hasn't played anything other than small minutes. He's playing a career high in minutes this season by 6+ more minutes per game. Career average is about 15 mpg. How in the h%ll did the Spurs not think that they may need a better Center than Bismack.
