Game Thread Spurs (8-3) vs Warriors (7-6) (Fri 11/14/25) [8:30PM CDT]

Stephanie Currie with 9 points on 2-11 thru 3 quarters against the Pels.
Geez, I didn't watch the game, but was someone else hot/playing well that Curry didn't need to get going?

Players are definitely getting up to play against the Spurs and are giving it their best shot. That's a good thing. If you remember back in the TD era, you'd always have players having some of their best games against the Spurs. That's a good thing, but, the Spurs still can't be that bad at defense and let these type of performances happen too often.

They were playing NOP and still ended up winning by 18. Curry wasn't needed in Superman form, so Superman didn't come out to play. It's that simple.

Someone said it best earlier (maybe it was you even)... it's almost a compliment that Curry does this against SA. Dude is an all-time great, and knows when he needs to go super human to win games, and there were two of them in a row (one of them on national TV). It's the the flip side of the Victor effect coin that these dudes are going to show up to play.

I think I said something on few pages back on that a lot of us are thinking the Spurs played badly in some of their wins against the lesser teams such as NO, Brooklyn, Phoenix (who have turned their season around a little bit after that win) etc., but when I really thought about it a couple of days ago, I feel that these teams have given their best shots/had some of their best games of the season against the Spurs. That's a good thing IMO as it takes me back to the days of the TD led teams where we'd get guys having a career game against the Spurs. That usually means you're a top flight team, and like you said in the case of Curry, that's a great compliment. I'd say it's almost too much of a compliment right now as most of the TD era teams were Championship level teams and this is a young Spurs team not on that level to be getting some of these team's best games. I think it's good for them to experience it, but man, kind of early for teams to respect them so much. I guess Victor brings that attention to them.
