This honestly concerns me. I truly believe Spurs might ride with Mitch and waste years of development even if he doesn’t get better.

Nothing about him says NBA coach. We never respond well to adversity, we can’t keep leads, our play out of TOs and quarters is always flat, we nearly never make in game adjustments, we always play the same ppl at the same time regardless of who’s hot, players doing well ridin the bench while we lose leads, senseless rotations. We’ve struggled with the exact same things the entire year with no improvement, individuals have struggled with the same thing without game plan changes or usage changes, it’s old and frustrating.

I can’t say one good thing about him lately honestly, and I know we’re stuck with him at least 3-4 more years no matter what unless Wemby makes a fuss which I doubt he will.

To play a little bit of devil’s advocate, this is part of the problem with being “ahead of schedule”. Mitch is out of his depth because these are waters he wasn’t supposed to be in. He was supposed to learn to swim with the rest of the team… problem is, the rest of the team turned out to be natural swimmers.

Unfortunately, I don’t think the FO has the courage to see what’s happening and bring in the coach more appropriate for where the team is at, so we are going to have to wait for Mitch & Co to catch up.

It is a very weird schedule… we’ve played a lot of games bunched together, and now we’re about to play 4 games in 10 days

It's not that we shot 3s, but that half of those were stepbacks and off the dribble.
We just decided their size is too much for us and that we don't even want to attack the paint.

KD gets a free fastbreak layup after Castle missed a stepback 3 over him and didn't bother to come back.
DFS gets a free layup because noone bothered to run back on defense after Barnes blocked Sheppard on the fastbreak.
Castle defends Amen well and then decides he can play 1v1 and gets blocked, easy basket on the other side.

I can go on and on, we literally gave up at least 20 possessions with low IQ and low effort plays.

Agreed, 100%. And you wouldn't know it from the shat I talk, but I want Mitch to succeed. I know we ALL do.

But yeah, to me, all what you just said is a problem, and I don't give AF, I will say it again, Becky deserved the head coaching position here over Stitch, PERIOD.

I see that point of view but realistically we should’ve known Wemby would be ready early, and getting Fox is a sign that you are ready to compete now (whether you agree with the trade and contract or not, surely that was their intention).

I wonder if we even interviewed other options. It’s a huge risk to give the reigns to a unproven guy like Mitch, it works out sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t. For all I know he’ll figure it out, but guess all I’m saying is that if he doesn’t, I just don’t think the FO will care and will get in their feels about it and ride or die with him.

If he was at least showing progress on some things I’d have more confidence, but he doesn’t seem to understand what might be going wrong and keeps making the same mistakes over and over, or I guess if we wanna be nice, we can at least say he’s certainly not looking for solutions and is sticking to what I consider to be flawed principles.
