Game Thread Spurs (21-7) vs Thunder (25-3) (Tue 12/23/25) [7:30 PM CDT]

that's exactly what came up to my mind at that moment, hope to be wrong. I have been battling calf injuries for 18 years since a sprain grade 2 in 2007 :( this thing is a b.tch
Damn, man, didn't realize they can linger that long. I don't even know if what I've had is considered a proper calf strain. I'd say at worst, I've had a slight calf strain and played through it and gone to work like normal then after a while it came good. I don't remember much as it's been years. It was hard to push off of and jump, but I'm a lower flyer anyway . I do remember pain walking around, but nothing too bad.

How did/does your grade two feel? Was it very painful? Could you run, push off of it, jump etc.? Did you have trouble even walking?

SA Spurs reporters suck. They can't even get their stories straight. Do they do their job, or just get fed information and then write that up. Do they bother to check if the information is correct? Is he out for injury, or out for personal reasons?

Don't know what to think. Get 'personal reasons' and was worried last night when he walked off. How many days has he come back? Sounds like if it is the calf everyone has a problem. He is missing a lot of games with the calf. Might be a serious problem.

Guys he is not out.

He is just questionable just like OKC listed 4 players including Chet questionable.

He might or might not play, but the chances of him playing limited minutes are more than any other permutation at this point…

Yesterday Wemby wants to clearly play more minutes.

But Mitch has benched him and looks that upset him because he was not on injury report.

May be as mitch said they are extremely cautious with him now considering his injury history.

Situation is ticky tack. Spurs wants him for playoffs as healthy as possible..

He wants to play as many minutes as possible.

I figured once Pop left the reporters in SA would have more balls, but no dice

That was pretty bad, I felt it pop, I could not put any weight on it, I had bruising on the outside. It took 3 months to recover completely. I was 33 when that happened before that I never had any muscular issues.

I have been bad at stretching and doing some muscular strengthening so I keep re-injuring it every once in a while but now I know better than to continue running so usually 1-2 week recovery is sufficient.

How does it feel when it's good? Does it still bother you a little bit when it's good, or only if/when you reinjure it? Sounds like you had a really bad one to begin with. I'm also terrible for stretching. Used to do it a lot more when I was younger, but nowhere near as much now.

im just curious those that say "The reporters have no balls" think reporting works exactly?

do you want them to stick a finger in the PR guy's chest and demand answers? lol

How about justifying their existence, in general

You don’t need a full time job to copy paste public injury reports

Do you guys think wemby will be pissed at the Mitch and medical staff if he missed the 65 games requirements due to "injury management"? I think he will understand if it is a legit injury. But from his previous quotes, it seems like he feel he is good to go and with almost no pain at all. He has also said from his rookie year that he will want to get all the hardware like MVP, ROTY, DPOY.

Wow sorry for u buddy, I'm currently having one lingering for more than a month even if it doesn't prevent me from most activities, it's just an always present pain smh. Hope it gets better.

As for Wemby it's either that or we're parano and the most obvious explanation is that he was upset at being replaced that early and told Mitch but as we know now this one doesn't have the power to extend his playing time, the medical team is in charge here.

I get that but SA isn't a small town, there could at least be some variety in the media, some investigations etc not just beat reporters owning 100% of their info to the Spurs PR dept.

Even the Spurs would gain from some accountability rather than a banana republic system

He's upset for sure, who wouldn't be.

I'm not sure that he questions the Spurs medical staff yet because he's in a "I trust them blindly" mindset but as you said he weights his words and he clearly said that he had no pain a couple days after his injury.

He probably also is aware that the medical staff is being overly conservative, maybe unnecessarily, as they admit not knowing much, which probably makes things worse for him mentally.

I try to put myself in his shoes and I can't see myself reacting well to people being in control of my freedom to play or not, I kinda find it insane especially in a country of freedom like the US, even if there are good intentions behind it.

if you call yourself a "reporter" and you can't figure out if the city's most famous person has left the country or returned to San Antonio, but only repeat publicly available information, you're a stenographer, not a reporter

throwing it out there, because we are all thinking it: he's in a soft doghouse because he doesn't like his minutes to be managed more than it makes medical sense (1 or 2 games at most) and mitch wants to assert dominance given he has the "doctor's opinion" on his side.

we will get more hints today. If he's not at shootaround, he definitely went to the funeral.

Spurs still being ran like the Soviet Union

:st-popemote:"Post our new propaganda or you will lose your job"
This isn't even propaganda, but those reporters having as much inside info as we do. :st-lol:
They were just waiting for the injury report.

Kind of dumb to manage his calf this game, could've done it against the Wizards.
Wemby can miss just 5 more games to be eligible for the awards.
