It's not even about the playoffs, but our young guys having the best possible learning experience.
Nothing good comes from half-assing it against tanking teams like they did last night. They need to be challenged.

It's the first competitive season, I'd rather have them play more games against the strongest possible opposition even if it means losing a seed or two. As long as we're top6, it's fine.

How do those numbers get calculated? Bkref has the Spurs also at #6 in ORtg 119.1, #5 in DRtf 112.8, but #6 in Net Rtg +6.3 and #13 in pace 100.4.

Season long numbers are hard to take much away from since key pieces have missed so much time. Encouraging that the Spurs are playing this well in spite of that, though based on point differential they "should" be 19-9 right now. By that measure the Rockets "should" be 19-7 and the Lakers "should" be 14-13.
We‘re also 7th in 3-point shooting. At least that’s what the Wizards broadcast said.

The Rockets could be 19-7 if they actually used KD in clutch situations but for some reasons they mainly use Sengun.

Sure such a trip would be stressful however these guys are used to be in the plane every other day, it's not like it's completely out of the ordinary for him.
I wonder what the rules are for teams or sponsors to provide a charter.

Surely Wemby doesn't fit comfortably even in International First lay-flats, but the Spurs or Nike or Louis Vitton could easily find a charter where he could comfortably lay down and sleep on a trip to/from Paris.

Caruso, Chet, Hartenstein, and Jaylin Williams all ruled out for OKC's game today againt Memphis

Really feel like all this talk about #2 seed and being contenders and shit is gonna jynx us for these upcoming 2 games with the Thunder lol Putting out some anti-jynx in the universe...

GONNA BE REAL TOUGH GAMES, WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF WE LOST BOTH, WOULD BE HAPPY FOR IT TO JUST BE COMPETITIVE

Unfortunately, half of Memphis is also out
less concerned about their ability to beat memphis, really just wondering if theres any likelihood that any of these guys will be unable to suit up tomorrow

I'm approaching more in the vein can MEM make these guys work so they are slightly fatigued going into tomorrow. I think the answer is going to end up no (which will be the same answer to whether any of them miss tomorrow in all likelihood)

Yeah it feels great to be a fan of the team nowadays after all the years spent in the wilderness, but we're still stuck in the "we look good but are we really?" state of mind that we often preface games against great teams with "expect us to lose but would be happy if it is competitive".

I am so gung-ho on them right now though that I fully expect the two games to be close.

Not sure why Vic couldn’t just call his agent and say “have me a private jet ready “.

fyi...

Caruso listed out with "right middle finger sprain"
Harteinstein with "right soleus soreness" (part of the calf)
Holmgren with "illness"
Jaylin Williams with "right heel bursitis"

i think theyre just resting a ton of these guys for tomorrow. they want revenge

Wouldn't be surprised if IHart doesn't go tmrw. He has been legit dinged up and I had missed a good amount of games leading up the Cup semis against us. Chet and Caruso are just being load managed.

This sounds like they plan on bringing Wemby off the bench for the foreseeable future tbh.

Just insane how this nobody is coming off like he is talking about the benching/starting of Matt Bonner and not Victor fuckin' Wembanyama :st-lmao:

Generational talents & MVP caliber players should never receive this kind of treatment unless Wemby is kinda of a sucker with not much of a character..

His 1st game back being a semi-high stakes cup game against OKC, fine, bring him off the bench, maximize 4th quarter availability. The team was rolling and we didn't want to risk too much change too quickly.

At this point though the benefit just seems non-existent. With 2 of our last 3 against the Wizards that would've been the ideal time get back to our normal starting corp. He could re-aggravate the calf starting or off the bench just the same. 20 minutes is still enough to play 5 per quarter and establish better continuity.

Someone else mentioned as well, if "it's the plan until it's not" to keep Wemby on a minutes restriction then we need a more capable 3rd big. Playing Kornet 28 mpg is highly concerning. Against competitive teams we can't put Olynik or Sochan in as a big for essentially any amount of time without a layup line commencing.
