Game Thread Spurs (16-7) @ Lakers (17-6) (Wed 12/10/25) [9:00PM CDT]

Did this game count for W-L? NBA/Yahoo say Spurs are 17-7, ESPN says they are still 16-7 after this game.
"Only the NBA Cup Championship Game doesn't count towards a team's regular season record or statistics; all group stage, quarterfinal, and semifinal games are official regular season contests that affect standings, with other regular season games scheduled to ensure 82 games for all teams. "

So meaning the semi finals vs OKC will actually replace "1 of the future OKC games that are not in December"? Total still play OKC 4 times instead of 5 times

For what it’s worth, I thought he played excellent defense. Shots won’t always fall and there’s a lot of scorers on the team. He still showed up in other ways
Agreed, was impressed with his defense tonight tbh.

I don’t think so… I think we just play the Lakers and OKC an extra time this year

How it Works

Group Play & Knockout Rounds (Quarterfinals/Semifinals): All games played in these stages count as regular season games for all 30 teams, affecting their win-loss records and playoff seeding.

The Championship Game: This final game is an extra game for the two teams involved and is not part of the regular season record.

Balancing the Schedule: To keep everyone at 82 games, teams that lose in the quarterfinals play an additional regular season game, and the 22 teams that don't make the knockout rounds have two extra regular season games scheduled.

But since they said only the championship game doesn't count in the 82 game schedule, then the semi-final against OKC should be 1 of the 82 games. And if we now play OKC 5 times, wouldn't it be us playing 83 games but this is only the semi-final and not the championship game

We only had 80 games originally scheduled. Had we not made the playoffs, they would have scheduled two more. Instead we get LAL and OKC.

We played the Bulls 3 times one year because of this.

ESPN and late-night Inside the NBA, which feels more like a schticky comedy variety show than an actual NBA program, have set a low bar for Prime to surpass, to be fair.
Eh, Inside the NBA is still the gold standard (obviously their basketball takes are elementary but the product itself is great). That said, this Prime show could be around for decades while Inside the NBA only has a few seasons left tbh.
