Game Thread Spurs (9-4) vs Grizzlies (4-10) (Tue 11/18/25) [7:00PM CDT]

DJG can’t dribble. He’s not really a PG either. I love his scoring ability but he tries to do too much and he gets ripped or loses the ball because of his lack of handle.

I know, but right now they need Jones-Garcia's shot creation over Waters shooting and as I said, it's more so to have a by committee approach in the non Fox minutes.

We can't catch a break with all of these injuries. The basketball Gods giveth, and they taketh away.
We can blame injuries for a lot.

But not for the chronic state of empty seats in the lower bowl.

It’s great to see without 3 of our top 4 players we are still favored by a touchdown over MEM. Also I think Fox needed this to get more consistency and to his alpha dog playing level. Somewhat similar to when Harper got lots of early PT and cemented his confidence.

Injuries suck! At least these seem like normal, lower level injuries. Lots of players missing time already this year around the league.
Olynyk and Sochan need to show up and show out and we got this. Maybe.
Sochan really needs the minutes and in a contract year it will tell us what we need to know. Kelly is a very smart player and you could do worse at backup C than him for sure. Such as Biyombo.

Mainly corporations buy those seats and then try to give them to workers. Lower bowl on the side of the court run about a grand for two tickets which your average Joe isn't going to spend. They'd rather buy a car and go on vacation. But I hear you.

Silver-linings of the injury bug:

- I want to see the Fox-Vassell back court. It’s the more “traditional” or “natural” fit of all the combinations. Let’s see how it does.

- Add to that, a return of Champ to SF. Together with the other starters available that’s probably our best spacing lineup.

- Carter Bryant minutes.

So basically no Harper, Wemby, Castke until
Xmas. FFS.

Our number 1,3,4 top players.

So 2 gonna have to carry team with 5.

5 being Kornet.

I would think Harper would be the first one back of the lot. He's out of his walking boot already. Is Sunday too optimistic for his return? That would be like one week since removing the walking boot. Or will it be 2 weeks in the boot and 2 weeks out of the boot which I believe would be like Nov 30th as a return.

How many games are we willing to lose in the meantime. Mitch willing to let this team crash back to 500 before bringing anyone back?

the problem with carter bryant winning is that he's frankly been quite bad and ineffective. but he's also not going to get better without playing. i would think austin makes sense but perhaps given his anticipated 3/D role, he's not going to get the same types of 3 point looks generated in austin as he would playing with the varsity team, so they figure its not worth it?

i still think he could use the playing time there just to work on off ball movement, making the right, quick pass. and its not exactly like he's been a monster defensively in his limited minutes either. one awesome block in transition after he commtted a turnover, but otherwise no real memorable spots yet

Is it confirmed yet if djg will be with the team

Considering DJG could barely get off the bench in preseason, people around here are smokin' that good good if they think Mitch is going to play him any meaningful minutes tonight

Good thing we have a young team otherwise these injuries would be a concern...

Limit Santi and Cedric connecting from downtown and count on Fox/Kornet/Barnes. Would like to see some more from Olynyk.

IS MY BOY PLAYING OR WHAT

The NBA on NBC theme song for this abortion of a game is hilarious. It used to mean something. :st-lol:

Might be the emptiest I’ve ever seen Frost Bank Center at tip-off tbh… that’s wild. I guess no Wemby or Castle will do that.

Why does this feel like the first Christmas after losing a family pet?
