Game Thread Spurs (5-2) vs Rockets (6-2) (Fri 11/07/25) [6:30PM CDT] on Prime Video

Amen has been doing well in that role. There’s still kinks to work out
Exactly…

Which is no different than castle running the show and still not really a pg- but Fox is on standby
Thompson is also not really a pg but is a good player

For all the cliff jumping...doesn't houston have its own PG issues?

Yet, all the wrist cutters here are saying the rockettes are going to blow out the spurs....and the clown that proclaimed ware/heat would destroy wemby is now on shit-goon's nutz...

lol "spurs" fans...
I am not sure if the Spurs will lose or not (probably will) but I am not that concerned about that part of it.

The difference is that Houston actually has an offensive system, and Sengun has been playing the conductor pretty well on the offence for the Rockets, where Thompson is doing very well as a connector and Durant and company as finishers. The Spurs theoretically has the personnel to do it (Wemby for Sengun, Castle for Thompson, and urr... maybe we don't have finishers), but we just don't have much of a system.

Wemby should really work on the facilitator role now and get that patience on offence. If a wing is on him, then a big is on our wing, and that wing should be quick and nimble enough to cut for open shots. Problem is we are all just standing around where the spacing is horrible.

Mitch, I am looking at you.

Boiled down:

Rockettes
W- 5
L- 2

Spurs
W-5
L- 2

I don't remember exactly the defense played by the Rockets since those games were early last season weren't they? But I think Udoka was the one that the current game plan teams have used these past two games against Victor last season, didn't he? Defend him with a small defender and then send help over? I don't remember the Rockets games that clearly from last season. I think they were also too early in the season last season to base anything on.
I remember Brooks being a problem for Victor

can't wait to see Wemby struggle to post up Reed Sheppard while dropping 14 points on 22 shots
Wow... It's pretty amazing how some of you can change their point of view after two games. I bet if he destroys Houston tonight you'll be the first to say he'll be MVP, right ?

Had this conversation with a friend last night. Hadn't seen him since we were 5-0.

Even then we were both saying it's stupid to get too high or too low on the Spurs. 2 losses in a row sucks but teams are celebrating like they just won a fauci-year championship and shit.

Spurs are going to get everyone's best going forward, which is a good thing.

I'm just waiting for Tony Parker to have an interview where he says he tore his hamstring a few weeks ago and he's ready to play.

He loved putting Brooks on Wemby to agitate and be physical. Doesn't have that option any more at least. If Reed Sheppard somehow gets stops on Wemby I am selling all of my Vic stock.
This game seems ripe for Amen Thompson on Wemby... Amen might be able to be pretty successful at it.

enough with this trend of showing guys moving in slow motion and saying "return imminent" tbh :st-lol:

i think the one from pre-game on wednesday was much more compelling
To be fair, he just said "return should be imminent" not that it actually is imminent :st-lol:

But I hear ya... Spurs media have been showing their ass on this

Yeah, I'm predicting this to be an ugly game like some of yall are and Houston is primed with smaller physical players to harass Wemby so without a good PG to help get him set up in his spots it's going to be another rough night for him.

Also lmao @Spurs media. None with any balls to call any staff out on the lack of information they are providing, and not a single 1 of the is asking a single challenging question. Never change Spurs media
