Game Thread Spurs (4-0) vs Heat(3-1)(Thu 10/30/25) [7:30PM CDT]

I was wondering who is playing well for them. Completely forgot they got Norman Powell. Hopefully the Spurs can raise it up another notch, play a clean game and beat them. Would be huge for the young guys to get this win IMO.

Was Kessler still on the board when the Spurs drafted Malaki? Also, is Wiseman a free agent? I thought I saw him on a team in the preseason. Did he get cut?
Yea Kessler went 2 picks after Malaki (22nd Overall). And Wiseman just got cut by the Pacers a couple days ago. Kessler would be a dream right now. Wiseman may be done in the NBA forever. Kid just doesn't have it.

The fact that Bamba is already out of the league at 27 despite his physical gifts is a major red flag. Don't think Spurs would even consider him. Wiseman is a terrible rim protector despite his size and length (and just sucks at basketball as whole). Moses Brown would be really scraping the bottom of the barrel. Think PATFO would rather just stick with Biyombo's useless ass.

If only we'd drafted Walker Kessler over Malaki Branham back in 2022 tbh.

Biyombo is already scraping the bottom of the barrel. The difference is, they at least have true center size and in their athletic prime.

Spurs need to come out of the '26 draft with a developmental big in the pipeline.

Idk I'm not too worried about Miami especially if Powell is out. Yeah they're leading the league in ppg but that's kind of meaningless right now especially when two of those games they scored 140+ were against trash teams. I think we'll pull it out. I dont think they'll hit 20 three pointers like they did vs Memphis and Charlotte

I still don't get why the Spurs didn't try to get Kalkbrenner or someone in the second round of this past draft. I don't get it. Why have all those second round picks and not trade some of them to get a good backup like that. I know they got Kornet, and he's great, but it wouldn't have hurt to get someone else as extra backup.

Any why haven't any of the Spurs reporters asked what happened to Kornet. What point did he injure it and how serious it is. Why are the clowns not asking questions. It's part of their job. Never seen anything like this where it's like they're scared to ask legit questions.

Options to replace Biyombo: Moses Brown, Wiseman, Bamba.

Bassey just signed with the Grizzlies on a hardship exception and Achiuwa might have an agreement with the Heat to return once they can sign him without going into the tax or apron.
If Micah Potter is two-way eligible, I'd rather have him taking up the spot of someone like Minix or Ingram. I don't see the purpose in having either of those two-ways taken up by those two. Use both of them on big depth, tbh. Don't need to waste roster spots on tweener wings, we have enough of those.

somewhat helps to get the half pace test run against select members of the Heat squad recently in pre season at least to establish some familiarity in a practice intensity environment
