Game Thread Spurs (4-0) vs Heat(3-1)(Thu 10/30/25) [7:30PM CDT]

Champagnie said they watched a ton of film and Michael C. Wright said Mitch was running drills replicating the Heat offense in practice. So the guys are definitely locked in.

He also said Fox is playing 5-on-5 in practice, so he should be back soon.

Won't be able to tune in until about 90 minutes after tip... I need to move back to the mainland so that work and picking kids up stop interfering with the Spurs :st-lol:
Kids can walk. Uphill. In the volcanic ash. Both ways.

Its been regularly said since before season started fox be out first 5 games, only non spurs fans dont know this

Michael Beasley has entered the chat.

Creepy shit happening with old boy mouthing "See, that's what I'm talking about" and the other dude is like "Yeah... yeah. Let's let this end right now".
And then white boy is picking the fungi off the back of his dirty mouth garage and having to look at it like it's some epic booger.
He even had to scrape it off of his hand with his other hand.

Ware definitely got the best of him in the preseason game so I am expecting a revenge game from him tonight tbh

Usually not one to be over sensitive, but damn this definitely feels like a jab here :st-lol: Hope Wemby saw this and goes nuclear tonight tbh.
It’s gotta be annoying as hell to constantly be asked about Wemby. Don’t blame him. Press needs to ask better questions

Man, I'm so bored on non-game days. I forgot what it's like to actually anticipate watching the games (instead of just watching them masochistically).

Now what am I supposed to do...be like, productive and stuff?
Not used to feeling anxious before a game ... it's never really an issue when you're at the bottom of the standings. Lol

I cannot remember the last time I was nervous for a regular season game.

I'm nervous tonight. Just totally anxious about how our players are going to handle this team. I think the Heat are going to swarm on defense like no one we've faced this year, and they're likely going to throw multiple looks at us -- early doubles, late doubles, zone, ice, hard hedges, I expect the absolute works from them whenever Wemby touches the ball.

I hate to expect wins in every game these days with such a young core -- that is just begging to be disappointed frequently -- but the way we've been playing it's hard to see us losing as long as we don't shoot <35% from the field. That said, a loss wouldn't exactly surprise me, with the East being what is this year, I can see the Heat vying for a Conference Finals berth by the time it's all said and done.

Wemby better punk bam tonight
Honestly he's due for a monster game. His opener against Dallas was insane, but I still don't think we've seen the full slate of Wemby deciding to demonstrate that no one else in the NBA, and perhaps the history of the league, can do what he is capable of. I would love him to come straight out and rip their defense apart to force them into early adjustments, because Miami is definitely going to do everything they can to keep the ball out of his hands and limit his spacing when he does catch it.

There's nothing to be nervous about, just think where we were just a year ago.
Now we're off to a 4-0 start without our second best player.
Even if we lose, it's just another regular season game.

For me it's about the level of play. Can we stay consistent throughout the season? Obviously we won't win every game, I'll be content as long as there are no horrible losses where the team looks like they never met before.
I'd say tonight's spotlight should be on Mitch.
Spoelstra will surely have some unexpected adjustments and try to outcoach him, we'll see how Mitch adapts.

As for the players, I'd say it's the game for Devin to prove his good start didn't happen just because we played subpar teams.
