Wemby is the Spurs' superstar and our present and future franchise player. So it scares the bejesus out of us everytime he suffers any injury.

But more than anything..he is an awesome young man..wordly, wise and competitive and I just wish that he gets all the luck he needs to avoid any structural injuries. He is also among the most well prepared athletes in the world, with nary a bad habit. That itself should keep him going and be fine.

Which superstar doesnt want to be the best player in the league. Anyone among the elite who says otherwise would be a case of very false modesty. From Jokic, SGA, Giannis, Luka, Curry, Edwards..everyone of them is a MVP-wannabe. Wemby is no different. He just speaks his mind and says it aloud, while trying to live upto those words on the floor. And I am glad for it. Not everyone needs to be like Duncan who had a different and unique personality.

This team still has few holes (shooting, wing defense, backup big(s)) but they have absolutely no quit in them, which is one of the best qualities to have in a young team..

They could have let go of the rope as doubt creeped in mid way 3rd quarter and a losing streak loomed large, but they kept punching back till they got over the hump without their best player. A character-affirming win..

The Spurs were able find a way to win with Wemby getting hurt, and being down by as much as 19 earlier in the game. I thought it was over after the Knicks got the lead back up to 9 at the end of the third. Spurs battled back and never quit. It was a great way to break their losing skid and get back on track against a good playoff team.

Underrated facts here. They fought off the loss of their star, came back from a big deficit, and against a team who is a hard matchup for them.

they still played desperate at times, offense with anxiety is how Mitch put it

but they calmed down a bit and figured it out, fox did a great job getting to his spot and took good shots

not really. losing on the road to a good cavs team then dropping to a good knicks team is not really cause for panic. while you'd obviously rather win, those are the losses you'd expect to see along the way. its losing to bad/mid teams (jazz game) that are cause for concern. we've already shown we can hang with okc, denver, lakers, rockets. our loss to the knicks in the cup final was a hard contested game until they pulled away a bit in the 4th.

if we were getting constantly routed every time we played a good team, then i'd be concerned (like the first suns game)

We lost to Cleveland at home and Knicks missing some key players. Barely survived today but it is what it is
