Game Thread Spurs (23-9) vs Knicks (23-9) (Wed 12/31/25) [6:00 PM CDT]

I want to be hopeful, if there's any guy who's serious about his stretching, it's Wemby. He's very lax. Anyone remembers how he turned his ankle in his rookie year and walked it off like nothing happened? I remember

It's time for his training to bear fruit now.

teams have been backing off Harper and Castle now

they gonna have to hit them jumpers to keep them honest

praying that Wemby just misses a game or two at most if any, he seemed in good spirits at the end of the game, thats a good sign right

he full of crap, tbh. Wemby was pacing around on the bench 10 minutes after..Body language alone tells you it wasn't that bad. Think it'll be a couple of games max
Agreed the doctor in that clip also said it might not be as bad as he expects it to be since Wemby is very flexible. I believe he's ok since the Spurs allowed him to walk back to bench and he looked very comfortable with his cheering and smiles on the bench. Usually the medical team can tell immediately if it's bad and if if it was terrible I doubt they would have let him return to the bench on his on will. Spurs might not play him for a week or two simply because they are in general very cautious but I'm very confident this not serious or a season ending injury he had.

He showed pretty clearly it was a significant hyperextension. Not Joe Thiesman or anything like that but more than Jokic's. Looking like Wemby's constant stretch training probably saved his ligaments though, as you'd have to think that knee would have been swollen to hell by the time he got to the bench if there was ligament damage. This guy uploaded right after so all he had seen was the injury and the way he hopped off the floor.

They have a back to back coming up so I wouldn’t expect to see him play the next 2 for sure. But positive thoughts. I think he’s good.

Iirc, Timmy had a pretty bad knee injury we all thought could've ended his career and he only missed eight games.

Also when Jokic got hurt he never returned to the Nuggets bench. This is another reason why I think Victor is fine.
