Game Thread Spurs (23-9) vs Knicks (23-9) (Wed 12/31/25) [6:00 PM CDT]

Castle last 3 games:

14 for 41, 34 FG%
1 for 14, 7% 3PT%
22 AST
12 TOV
13 PF

Gotta be the worst 3 consecutive games of his life. Lot of talk about this team lately - Castle is absolutely integral to this team, and when he plays like this we shouldn’t be surprised with the results.

Hoping he bounces out of this funk asap.

Iirc, Timmy had a pretty bad knee injury we all thought could've ended his career and he only missed eight games.
I remember Tim had a lot of scare moments with his knee that we thought were career enders. There was one knee injury in the '03-'04 season and I believe it was against the Mavs in which it looked like Tim was going to be out for the season but only missed like 8 games like you said. There was another injury during the '12-'13 season in which some guy from the Wizards straight up rolled into Tim's knee and we thought he was finished but apparently the knee brace he was wearing saved his knee and I think he was only out for a game or two.

Also when Jokic got hurt he never returned to the Nuggets bench. This is another reason why I think Victor is fine.
Jokic went to the bench and barely limped to the locker room at the half, like 20 minutes later.
Wemby was back on the bench within 20 minutes and in good spirits at the end of the game.

If it was the playoffs, he'd probably play the next game. I expect the Spurs to hold him out for a week.

"Fox was phenomenal..................." ...."and being a pacesetter for us"

His workload is too high.
POA defender at all times, handles the ball the most and plays a physical style of basketball that wears everyone down.

There was one possession where he defended high PNR 1v2, still managed to recover and close down Brunson, I think Bridges go the ball on the handoff, Castle switched on him and stayed close on his drive, contested a mid-range shot.
Basically played 20 seconds of defense by himself. And it happens many times over.

But it's a learning experience, as long as it doesn't cost us too many games.

Fox really needs the ball more, he's by far the safest option on offense and once he gets going he can take the game over.

Schedule is favorable for him to miss a week, at a minimum.

@IND
POR
@MEM

Two days off between POR and MEM too, but then we have a pretty tough stretch with LAL, @BOS, @MIN, @OKC

On point......Fox is superb and exercises restraint most of the time.
