Game Thread Spurs (22-7) vs Thunder (26-4) (Thu 12/25/25) [1:30 PM CDT]

6 of 7 losses we had double digit leads so we arent great closers
yeah
Leads come and go quickly nowadays.
You could probably have similar stats for other teams. That said it's happening less frequently and who can forget the 2003 team. While a fondly remembered outcome, there was a lot of nerve wracking moments

We all know NBA players are really all about 2 inches shorter than their posted height. They pride themselves on their height and try to maxi it out. Elton Brand was 6'5", not 6'8". Duncan was 6'11, Garnett was 6'10, Allen Iverson was no more than 5'10".
Manu is taller than 6’6 though and I can see Duncan being 7 feet tall in shoes bc Matt Bonner is a beast of a human being (correctly labeled 6’10 ) and Duncan had a couple inches on him.

I could see Bonner being 6'10 but I see Manu as 6'5 without shoes, Duncan 6'11" at best without shoes and Parker no more than 6'2" without shoes, more like 6'1.5" because my friend who was 6'1" was essentially the same height and Parker has a small head.

I’ll never forget that bs Vince Carter game winner he traveled on (game 5?)

Game 3. Freaking Joel Meyers. As a kid (late 90s, early 00s) I'd watch him on the Spurs feed (back when he was alpha and Bill Land was beta) and if the opposing team hit a game winning shot, he'd go silent and eventually say "...unbelievable. unbe-LIEVABLE!" ... whereas that time, in 2014, he was working for TNT, so he was like "Vince Carter at the horn, YES!!!!!" .....shattered my childhood heart, even at the age of 20 and a freshmore in college.

Game 5 was in SA and the Spurs won.

As far as the traveling, that almost never gets call on a shot attempt, especially at the end of a game. Manu Ginobili, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Steph Curry etc. got away with tons of technical traveling violations on a bunch of their game winning jump shots. When you're a superstar with the ball in your hands, the NBA lets you play.

No feedback on Manu or TD, but, I stood next to Parker once and I'm 6'.5" in shoes and Parker was barely taller than me. Probably 6' 1.5" in shoes. One thing that I saw that blew my mind was TD and Shaq standing next to each other and Shaq was at least an inch taller, a foot wider and a foot or more thicker. Largest human I have ever seen.

BTW, Jokic another freaking monster game. Maybe Vic was too early to say Jokic isn't the best player in the NBA. I'd still put Jokic ahead of Shai personally with the top three being similar to what Victor said Jokic, Giannis, Shai etc., but still, Jokic is definitely in the running for best player in the NBA.
I don’t know. Wemby was basically calling Jokic a one way player and Jokic’s defense is downright awful. Like one of the worst defending big men in the league.

Maybe it’s bc he’s so skinny but man when I met Manu he just seemed taller than 6’6. And yeah Parker was like 6’1ish. He was barely taller than me
