Game Thread Spurs (4-0) vs Heat(3-1)(Thu 10/30/25) [7:30PM CDT]

Wemby's muscle tone starting to look more define. Remind me of David Robinson but of course David had much more bulk. Even Timmy's muscle was not as defined as David's

Wouldn't spend any draft capital to upgrade the 15th man tbh. Just go scour the scrap heap and find an able body imo. Shit, just bring back Potter or Bassey if/when he gets let go by the Grizz.
We've got like 14 2nd rounders in the next 5 years. We certainly can't use them all and 2nd rounders rarely put trades for stars over the threshold to make them happen.

Use them at the deadline along with whatever players fall out of the rotation to net an impact role player tbh. As its looking Sochan might not have a place on this team anymore; can flip him, Olynyk, and some of those seconds for a shooter that can start at PF.

18 rebounds so subtly too. thought wemby barely even went in but he had a crap ton of dunks, interior finishes. plus he played 40 min and was gassed. his bad game is an all star player's lifetime achievement.

This aged well.. :st-lmao:

Wemby has proved me wrong :st-toast:

Hopefully Fox, Sochan, Korndog and KO can return ASAP. As long as Spurs can have a good seeding, I think the Media Hype will favor Wemby over Giannas, Joker, SGA who had already won MVPs and are also putting up insane numbers again in this young season.

The Media always like to hype up a new guy

Congrats and very happy for this young squad, but it still blows my mind that 4-0 was only the highest this franchise has ever gotten to start a season.

I had the same opinion as Sean. I kept thinking, is that right, that can't be right, surely one of those 90s teams started higher than 4-0. I know in the TD years that it was probably correct as the Spurs didn't really care about playing great to start the season, they were always focused on March onwards, but like Sean, I'm still surprised that no Spurs team had started better than 4-0.

Never let Sweeney go.

What's it going to take to keep him? What if I team tries to poach him away early as their head coach. Being the associate head coach, does he at least get paid more than a regular assistant? Is it possible to pay him as much as Mitch so they're on equal terms?

It’s Patfo. What do you expect. They only luck into their good picks. The obvious stuff they are oblivious to is too.
The FO dumb af and not proactive especially because we 5-0. They can’t stress Wemby like this and cause injury. Get a serviceable big to back up Wemby if olynyk and hornet out next game. Feed bymobo to the god damn dogs. He can’t even bend to pick up a ball. There was one play where it literally took him 5 seconds. Put bullet to his pathetic washed up head.

The Spurs have to do something about the backup center spot. I really like Bismack as a person, but darn, gotta get someone better.

And did any of the Spurs reporters ask after today's game how severe Luke's ankle sprain is? When are they actually going to do some reporting?

I once again watched the game live in the middle of the night, but did not check with the game thread here. I went through it though which is always funny when you know the outcome of the game.
Greatest comment was someone saying in the first half that Wemby would not be in the MVP conversation anymore after this game  now look at that stat line combined with the W

In general just kudos to the defense which kept a team scoring 130 points on average at only 101.
Wemby indeed was gassed in the second half and then I wish he would just rise up and take a KD like jumper instead of side-stepping or trying a blow-by which is not happening.

In the first half it looked like Harper was poised for a big game, but the his decisions in the second half (bad foul, 2 TOs) nearly cost the Spurs the game.
His two blown layups in the first remind me of early Russell Westbrook who always was too fast going to the rim and not being able to still lay the ball softly off the glas. But Dylan will get there as Russ did.

Phoenix has now become a trap game I guess after achieving a franchise record start into a season. I have my fingers crossed that Fox will be back as was hinted a week ago.
And an update on Kornet would be great. Bismack needs to stay on the bench tbh.

I'll legit be pissed if they lose to the Suns sans Brooks and Green tbh. They match up too well with them considering they're barely playing Maluach and Fleming.

Currently leads the league in rebounds. If he keeps it up that'll be a nice response to all the ST naysayers calling him a soft rebounder last year.

Biyombo is really like our 4th string center but Vanilla is injured, as is Olynk, as far as I see it.

Lots of biyombo hate today but his poor play didn't actually cost us on the score board
