i agree with this take. from the games i listed, i think theres a better chance of the spurs beating the mavs/lakers/raptors than them losing to the heat/bulls, which to me are the more questionable predictions
I just went with CHI because I feel like we always lose in Chicago for some reason whether they suck or not or we suck or not. Spurs are 5-10 in Chicago since 2010

I was just about to say, we always find a way to lose in Chicago. Technically we can beat all those teams, but my guess is 7-3. Also we are beating the Lakers, they suck

at Mavericks - L - toss-up, Flagg will be PG, but Klay/PJ/AD/Lively is crazy big. But I want to believe! Feel like Kornet has to get a lot of minutes here based on matchups alone.
at Pelicans - W
vs. Nets - W
vs. Raptors - W
vs. Heat - W
at Suns - W
at Lakers - L - But Toss-up, Lakes bigs are very weak, can anyone come close to guarding Wemby? Kornet could put up near 20 hitting 8/10 mostly put-backs. Sochan has had (relative) success against Luka, but I want Korndog and Oly to punish their bigs, which prolly leaves a lot of Castle v Luka.
vs. Rockets - L - Very tough game, they'll be super big, but if Fox is cooking he and Castle and Harper can get Amen into early foul trouble, if Amen is limited/fouls out, we win.
vs. Pelicans - W
at Bulls - W - we better take this one, 3 games in 4 nights or not. Giddy/White can't keep up with Fox/Castle plus Harper, Wemby cooks against Vuc & Zollins
7-3 with lots of upside, maybe drop another, but think 8-2 is at least as likely as 6/4
Next 15 games is a pretty tough stretch against tons of PO teams where 7-8 is possible if not likely, lets clean up early. 14-11 would put us on a 46 win pace, which is about what I expect this season.

I'll go with 6-4 (losses @ DAL, @ NOP, @ LAL, vs HOU would be my guess). Opening night @ Dallas feels like our usual trap opening game against them. Zion shreds the Spurs when healthy. If Fox comes back quickly and is as healthy as he says he is that would help immensely, a healthy Fox draws so much attention.
Can totally see that, but Zion's only played Wemby twice, he is 2-0 but both games in Vic's rookie season. 15/8/3 on 7/12 and 33/8/4 on 12/21, dude can definitely cook (when he dresses) and our D should be much much better compared to 23-24'

@Dal - L
@NOP - W
v. Nets - W
v. Rap - W
v. Heat - L
@Suns - L
@Lakers - W
v. Rockets - L
v. Pels - W
@Bulls - W

6-4

Why are there no 0-10 options. I’ve learned to keep my expectations ultra low the last six years.

Preseason is over. The Spurs went 5-0, but the competition has been an Chinese team, the Heat, the Jazz and the Pacers. So how do I feel about the first 10 games?

at Mavericks - L
[opening night against one of the toughest matchups - i see Wemby trying a bit too much and the home crowd making the difference.]
at Pelicans - W
vs. Nets - W
vs. Raptors - W
[b2b, 3rd game in four nights, but the Raptors come from a b2b as well]
vs. Heat - W
at Suns - W
at Lakers - L
[I stated it in other threads, Luka will cook us until he does not]
vs. Rockets - L
vs. Pelicans - W
at Bulls - L
[3rd game in four nights, Bulls have 2 days rest, Spurs like to struggle in Chicago]

That would be 5-1 start but only a 6-4 record after 10 games. Of course the Spurs might win in L.A. and Chicago, but then they will produce some duds against New Orleans if Zion goes bonkers.
I still see a lot of question marks with our 3 point shooting and communication on defense - still excited for the season to start.

What are your expectations for the first ten games?
So we are 2-0 instead of 1-1 thanks to that ridicoulous opening night game. Raptors and Heat look better than I expected, so I see the Spurs drop a home game against one of these two teams. And Luka will still cook us :poop:

After the game against the Pels the question marks I mentioned are still standing (or are they answered?).
Spurs still can't shoot and they still leave shooters wide open by unwarrantly trying to help the best (rim) defender in the league.

I think spurs will beat luka’s lakers

Reminds me of the 90 team more than 2003. A hungry team with good new players but not a lot of experience.

3-7 is now eliminated (along with one poster's guess)... somehow my 10-0 vote doesn't seem so crazy
