Game Thread Spurs (19-7) vs Hawks (15-13) (Thu 12/18/25) [6:30PM CDT]

Their rotation should be something like Daniels/NAW/Johnson/Risacher/Okongwu with Krejci/Kennard/Newell/Gueye off the bench.

NAW dropped a career-high 38 against us the last time we played these guys on 8/10 from 3, in large part because we kept leaving him wide open. He dropped 28 against the Hornets last night too. Need to know where he is at all times tonight. No more 3PT fuckery from this dude please.

Daniels and Risacher are offensively challenged.
I guess Castle will be on Johnson and Vassell will defend NAW.

Spurs are good enough to win the chip now with an upgrade at PF. It just depends on what the asking price is. If it's a Fox type deal where we're mostly giving up salary filler then do it and figure out who needs to be traded in a couple years and recoup some assets, Imo
talented enough to win, sure. but this club doesnt have playoff experience, and frankly that matters. just about everybody loses before they win. only team i can think of that came together and own immediately was the big 3 celtics in 2008, but that was a very different scenario and each of their big 3 individually had plenty of postseason experience.

Will be a tough one with the travel, but our guys will give it their all I'm sure.

Love the Hawks. They got us Carter Bryant.
If they had hit their expected record, New Orleans would have called us before Atlanta, and we’d have no CB, but we’d be holding the Pels unprotected pick in this draft. Fuck the Hawks.

we wouldnt have CB, but they didnt just trade that Pels pick, they traded that AND the #23 pick in the draft (which the Hawks used on Asa Newell). that could have been used on Newell, Nique Clifford, or another helpful piece.

given CB isnt really in the rotation (at least not when it counts, as we've seen in some of our big games this year), we'd be no worse off this year, and much bettter off going forward.

It was such an obvious bait I never thought you'd fell for it :ROFLMAO:

Still I'm uber happy with CB and you guys need to stop being so greedy and enjoy your privileges.

In a vacuum, I like what we have, but OKC is still loading top picks and talent, and they are the team we must get past. The sting of them getting the Clips high pick would be offset if we had gotten the Pels pick.

Emo Sochan going through it knowing his days here are numbered.

I dont get the sochan hate…just part of fair-weather fandom i guess…

Spurs fan base has to be the luckiest in the nba and the lineup is stacked with great talent and great personalities…

But every single game thread there is nonstop hate for sochan and god forbid another player has an off night- the instant trade him for other flavor of the month scrubs begins…

Just tiring as fuck.

Yeah, I really don't like those types of jinxes tbh lol

I'm still mad at my friend Nicky. In 2013, when we were up 5 in the finals the bitch fucking said the game's over let's go out already. I fucking looked at her with disgust. I still blame her for that shit. Whenever we watch sports together I call her the fucking jinx.

I take it she's not into basketball, otherwise, there'd be no chance she'd be asking to leave up 5 and with a potential celebration coming up (I assume this was game 6?). Can't really blame her for the loss. I hope you're not too hard on her about it. I think it's more on Pop and his stupid lineup to start the 4th quarter. Still trying to rest players in game 6 of the NBA finals. A lineup I wouldn't even play in the regular season if I were a coach.

You're right, but it's just the point that Exstatic brought up. I'm really starting to get worried about that Clippers pick and OKC getting another amazing player. If they get another great pick, then that is more trade assets for them to load up on future draft picks. If they don't win the Championship and get a top 5 pick, they can retool right away. They're already hard enough to beat, don't need them getting more lottery picks, especially it a great draft like this one. I really hate the Clippers a lot more than the Hawks, but it does suck that the Spurs were likely the next team up to get NO's offer if ATL didn't accept it.

Yeah, this is the reason. 100%. I really hope that Clippers picks ends up outside of the top 5.

Man, I had high, high hopes for Jeremy. I really wanted him to play well last game, but right now it's confidence that playing just as big of a part as his skills and BBIQ. I don't think it's so much his skillset, just that his confidence is really shot and he needs that to at least be a serviceable player. Maybe he's also having a lot of trouble picking up the coaching staff's defense and plays and just can't do it in the game, so that's probably making it doubly hard for him. Come on Jeremy, just find your confidence and do whatever you can out there. Don't worry about making mistakes, let the chips fall where they fall. If you make a mistake, just keep playing. It's the only chance you got to get yourself out of this (even if you're traded), you can't play with zero confidence and still expect to be in the NBA. Gotta take a page out of Steph's book and shoot the ball regardless when you got open looks. Change shooting coach if you've had the same one for a while now.

I mean if you're in your 4th year and get outplayed by a rookie and also can't score a basket on the worst team in the NBA while having 3 elite guards around you...you might not be an NBA player
