Game Thread Spurs (13-5) @ Timberwolves (11-8) (Sun 11/30/25) [6:00PM CDT]

I think all the players brought that Enrique spirit, but Devin definitely had the main character energy. He ended up 20 shots compared to Fox’s 15. Harper, the so-called PG of the future—the surefire PG All-Star, and, as some in the thread dare say, a Hall of Famer with his number in the rafters—had zero assists but still put up 17 points! Castle can't get back soon enough if Harper is bringing Main Character Energy to the Point. Fox did us no favors on the dishes too. Nobody wanted to screen for the OTHER GUY. It was a Total Disaster of Ego and Fatigue. Can't Blame Mitch, those horses were just not going to play "the right way" except maybe Keldon.
Hmm Harper with zero assists and our best shooters all shit the bed from 3 pt range...wonder if there is a correlation? Ain't no assist if the dude misses the shot.

Just wild how far Sochan has fallen. Not that he was ever some all-star or anything, but I feel like he used to at least be a decent rotational guy. At this point he’s more or less unplayable even against opposing bench units.

It’s not even really about the shooting, although obviously that doesn’t help. He doesn’t even contribute in any other ways at this point.
And to think, that was our starting point guard two years ago.
:st-lol:

Tell me you didn’t watch the game without telling me you didn’t watch the game. Harper wasn’t passing the ball to anyone on the 3 point line; he drove straight to the basket. Fair is fair— not everybody can afford streaming. have a blessed evening

Last games of extended road trips are often let downs, not super surprising. Seems like the defense has fallen off a cliff the last 2, can only patch together so much without our 2 best defensive guys.

Campbell's Vice President?

Me, @timtonymanu @scott and others have been saying that beneath the fake tough guy persona, Sochan is mentally brittle and carries elements of insecure personality that you can detect from his social media activity. Granted, he is very limited basketball player, but he is not responding well to the pressure of proving his worth (to us or another team) and channeling that into a new contract. Hence; he got worse and his future prospects in the league are looking iffy.

He looks like a guy who spent his whole off season working on his shooting and now the rest of his game (including his strengths) has suffered as a result. The worst part is his shooting isn't functionally better (defenders can cheat off him as much as ever). Dude just needs a reset with a new team at this point.

He came at the wrong time for his development. If he had Chip or the coaching personnel from the title years, they may have been able to fix his flaws. But instead he came here when Pop was in his retirement home phase and on a team set to tank, so he couldn’t work on developing his game.

He's insecure asf, that's why he wears the wack ass hair like that

How you feeling about Kon? Turned out to be a pretty good NBA player tbh
He's putting up numbers against the worst teams in the league. Hasn't played as well against the better teams to date but yes he's played better than I expected so far overall. I called him a bench quality player.

The only thing stopping this team from being a legit title contender is our perimeter defense. Why are we so freaking bad at guarding the 3? lol Like amazingly bad.

He's a starter. I didn't expect Harper to be as good as he is and of course we like Harper more because it's looking like he's going to be a top 10 player in this league before too long. I feel like Kon will be a solid starting piece.

its on the coaches more than the players

Why are the Spurs so bad at defending the 3? It's been bad for a few years now

i again point at the players for that shitty 3 point defense ... our perimeter guys are just low IQ defenders

Yeah, we gotta change that shit up.

We're doing better than expected even with a bunch of injuries so I can't be too pissed though.

When Wemby and Castle come back, if we're still collapsing and leaving wide open 3s then we definitely have a problem.

Live by the three die by the three.

Rebounding was pathetic.

Too many finishers and not enough playmakers in the main lineup. When is Mitch gonna figure out he should be playing one of his best players (aAhem-Harper) more. He should replace champ in the starting lineup. There’s too many guys there who just went to take threes all day long in the main lineup.

Honestly I think they are going to need to go to some weird four guard and wemby lineup soon. Fox, Harper, Castle, Wemby, Barnes/KJ is the way to go. Can’t fucking wait to see the lineup in practice. Mark my words it will rock.

Kornet is playing too many minutes. He will be so much better when he just fills in for wemby as the backup.

I’ve been really enjoying the games but this team has some huge weaknesses without wemby and castle, on both offense and defense but especially on defense. I’m not sure they actually play much defense without those two.
