Game Thread Spurs (13-5) @ Timberwolves (11-8) (Sun 11/30/25) [6:00PM CDT]

Yep, this was exactly it.

Fox was getting into the paint with ease in the first half… but the Wolves figured out we couldn’t hit anything from 3 tonight and they just devoted the defense to stopping De’Aaron. It was a solid adjustment by them and we couldn’t execute to make them pay.
Even then they had plenty of guys getting to the rim and hitting mid-range shots. Spurs had more than enough offense to win tonight even with the lack of three points shooting; what killed them has been what's killed them for years: piss-poor 3-pt defense and rebounding.

wonder if they trade him at deadline
Looks like they are already starting the transtion moving on from sochan.Bryant even got more mins then sochan today.
Tho,im not sure bryant ready to step up big like that.

Devin was 9-11 from 2pt and 1-9 from 3pt. Damn.

Sochan with 2/1/0/0/0 in 12 minutes.
How does he get only 1 rebound in 12 minutes at 6'9?

he tried really hard though and that cannot be taught.

146 million victory lapping on twitter and calling out 'haters' after one good shooting performance then goes 1-9 3PT next time out :st-lol:
and it's not like it didn't happen before. He always had a couple of good games during the season and every time I felt that he turned the corner and then he has several average-bad games in a row

I'm happy with the road trip myself, but surely there's some trade we can make packaging Sochan + lw or bismack and 2nd's for a useful piece.
Yeah Sochan is a legit negative right now. I’d even rather just flat waive him and have a guy like Drew Timme or Micah Potter than continue to see him get any minutes

i tuned in for the 4th quarter and just saw the wolves getting wide open 3s without having to work for them. We would double or help from the strong side every time and it was just one pass three, one pass three, one pass three.

Then we had minutes with Barnes at center.

Just a disaster class to end the game. I didn’t see the first half when it seemed things were going well

Didn’t see much of Sochan but least of my concerns tbh. Appeared to be schematic. And looks like everyone was cold from 3

Why is this guy still getting charity minutes? it is not like his contract forces you to play him. He is what he is at this point..Any 'trial and errors' minutes should go to Bryant fron now on

I feel that when Wemby comes back, he won't play much

are there any 3 point specialists that we could get for Sochan? maybe Jim from the local Y
Theoretically, Knecht from LA, but his numbers don't justify it (but at this point I'd do it...couldn't hurt). Maybe Knecht + NSJ (who's numbers from 3 actually look good) for Sochan. We'd need to clear a roster space though.

Spurs pretty much gave up on d and hustle plays cause shots werent falling for them.

I think all the players brought that Enrique spirit, but Devin definitely had the main character energy. He ended up 20 shots compared to Fox’s 15. Harper, the so-called PG of the future—the surefire PG All-Star, and, as some in the thread dare say, a Hall of Famer with his number in the rafters—had zero assists but still put up 17 points! Castle can't get back soon enough if Harper is bringing Main Character Energy to the Point. Fox did us no favors on the dishes too. Nobody wanted to screen for the OTHER GUY. It was a Total Disaster of Ego and Fatigue. Can't Blame Mitch, those horses were just not going to play "the right way" except maybe Keldon.

Yep any time he does good doesn’t outweigh his terrible fit on the roster and no fundamental offensive skills. If the spurs want to do more than just make the playoffs this year, they would try to upgrade from him ASAP. I know he probably doesn’t get us much though lol.

Vasell is Ok his game.

Sochen is disaster.

Traveling from ARI to POR to Mile High to MIN didn’t make things easy either.

Just wild how far Sochan has fallen. Not that he was ever some all-star or anything, but I feel like he used to at least be a decent rotational guy. At this point he’s more or less unplayable even against opposing bench units.

It’s not even really about the shooting, although obviously that doesn’t help. He doesn’t even contribute in any other ways at this point.

We have a legit 9 man rotation when everyone is healthy, we'll see what Mitch does.

Fox/Castle/Vassell/Barnes/Wemby
Harper/Champ/Keldon/Kornet
Spot minutes for Bryant/Waters/Olynyk/DJG.
We don't need Sochan at all.

Not enough fire power. We can't win sustainably without 2 of our top 3 players.
