NBA 2025-26 NBA Thread

Great opening week for the NBA ... if it not were about that Billups/Rozier scandal Adam Silver could be absolutely delighted

I liked it when players scoring over 40 was a rare occurrence. Sheesh

I guess i’m the only one enamored by SGA’s style of play… his game is very technical, which I like. The way he weaves/slithers through defenses and his jumpshots are almost robotic like Nephew.

the fouls he draws aren’t fouls. The fouls butler draws aren’t fouls. The fouls harden used to draw weren’t fouls. If you design a play so that you jump into a guy, that guy didn’t foul you. If you lift your arms up into someone else’s arms - also not a foul.

This should be easier to figure out.

Comes down to this with Shai…if you’re a person who shoots a basketball without the intention of it going in, and with the intention of drawing a foul - you are a person without personal or professional integrity and deserve a hell of a lot of shit for it. Butler is the same. Embiid is the same.

You are trying to win a basketball game on technicalities instead of playing your opponent straight up. That is foul.

Shai deserves to the back of the top 5 for this, don’t care how many awards he won. The thunder should be considered a highly cheap team who does not deserve respect.

It’s not like every player would do what Shai does if they could. He’s a particular bitch.

Those were fouls and it was a double OT game

People hating just to hate lol
Fouls in the current NBA? Yeah, obviously. It's a league where a player can leap into defenders and there's practically no defense allowed against guards like him. Against bigger players? Sure. But he can game the system.

What he does wouldn't work fifteen or twenty years ago.

Except they were fouls lol

You couldn’t touch the 80s Lalers

Jordan was the worse

You couldn’t breathe on that MF

“the current NBA”

Atlanta beat Orlando after the Magic were up. That sucks.

Dallas coughing up one to Washington at home. Maybe they just suck.

Detroit about to beat Houston in Houston, who start out two games in the loss column.

Luka with 48 pts with 3 min left in the game

Gonna average 40 pts this season or tear an ACL

Hope he slow down a bit so that wemby have chance to be the youngest MVP in history of NBA

As long as Spurs can get good seeding (top 4 in west), Wemby definitely has a good chance to be MVP as he is also the best defensive player.

The media narrative would help a lot as well. ESPN hyping Wemby would definitely help

Yup agree. But luka averging 40 with almost triple double would be hard to beat as he plays for the lakers.

Luka is the favorite then after that it'll be one of SGA/Jokic/Giannis/Ant tbh. Wemby is still a season or two away from being a legitimate candidate due to media bias unless he does what he did Wednesday night on the regular (which would give the Spurs 60+ wins).

Wemby has chance starting this season if he stays healthy. MVP DPOY is possible this season. I saw espn show yesterday talking about wemby as the best player in the league. Lmao

No one in the league can do what he did Wednesday night tbh. If he has games like that on the regular he'd already be the most dominant player we've ever seen. That said, I don't think he can replicate that night in and night out and the holes on this roster will keep him from winning enough games to compete with the winning AND gaudy stats we're about to see from Giannis/Jokic/SGA/Ant/Luka (doing it on a bad Lakers team but the Lakers nonetheless). Hell, can't discount the league from gifting it to Curry again if the Dubs stay healthy.

Wemby doesnt need to score 40 every night like he did against the mavs to win it. I think 29/12/4/4 stat line with spurs winning 50+ games will sway voters to give the MVP.

As much as they praise him, I think they're hesitant to anoint him so soon (like how they gave Gobert DPOY over him his rookie season). He'll have to go apeshit to win it this season imo. That said, he'll prolly win DPOY, MIP, and CPOTY tbh.

Jokic for DPOY, tbh

Sorry for the world's tiniest video... I'm not in charge of YouTube tbqh
