I wouldn't mind that..2 games when it looked like a 2-month injury at first blush is a big sigh of relief..I can't imagine Wemby missing less than 2 games with how cautious the staff is. The next two are a back to back too.
That sucks about Vassell. He’s really improved a lot this year and even playing better defense. I don’t want to be a cliche, but the silver lining is Champ is a better fit in the SL with better rebounder, bigger defender and a true catch-and-shoot guy, quick release.
Champs has been good and that supernova performance really brought the team back to life in that win against NY but right now I trust Devin more with the shooting plus he's still better as a three-level threat. That sucks about Vassell. On a B2B, I believe you have until noon on game day.Bummer about Vassell. I notice that the Spurs & Blazers have not submitted injury reports yet, along with a couple of other teams.
Ah, thanks. It's posted now.No Wemby, Vassell or Ingram. 7 out for the Blazers including Grant and Williams. On a B2B, I believe you have until noon on game day.
Wemby is deferring for now, but they should be able to correctly read the room, right? He said he expects/feel he will be back next game including a reference to 65-game limit ("in my mind").I'd be shocked if he's not on a minutes restriction and they allow him to play both ends of the back to back, so a virtual lock he misses another game and inches closer to losing award eligibility.
They better be careful to not overdo it with the precautionary measures and cost him individual accolades before he's even had a chance to accumulate them.
I would think if the Spurs get their way he will sit both under the reasoning/logic of "it gets him 5 more days of rest". Time to see if Vic has the lobbying juice as the franchise player or not. For my thinking, if everything is structurally sound and the MRI was fully clean then he should probably suit up. His hyper-extension was of the freak variety, not someone falling into his leg. He hasn't had much mileage on him this season thanks to the month off from the calf strain and subsequent minutes restriction.
doctor who says he knee can handle 25 minutes of basketball one day, but if he plays 25 minute of basketball the next day, his knee will fall off
Feels like as long as he's not lobbying hard-- by that i mean putting his foot down-- they'll keep sitting him for as long as they can. I understand being spooked by a calf strain, but a freak hyperextension with not a minimal damage to ligaments or intolerable pain and yet a week later and he's still iffy might just be an overkill at this point..doctor who says he knee can handle 25 minutes of basketball one day, but if he plays 25 minute of basketball the next day, his knee will fall off
Nope, 20 mins required except for 2 instances of 15+ mins.I don’t know the rules. But can’t he play a couple of minutes and sit, just to satisfy the 65 required?
Sounds like LAL is what they are targeting, but I'll be surprised if he plays in either.
So long as we don't play like assholes who have never shot a basketball before, we shouldn't need Wemby for either of these games if we're being honest.
