Game Thread Spurs (6-2) vs Pelicans (2-6) (Sat 11/08/25) [7:00PM CDT]

Looking like he's gonna earn himself a nice contract this summer. Maybe a better one than the Sprus can afford.

He’s earning whatever “bench disruptors” make these days. Can’t see anyone other than the WAS or UTA of the world paying him to be more than that.

Vassell should've swung that to the corner for a wide open Champ, tbh.

146 million looking off a wide open champagnie and barely grazes the rim

immediately gets benched :st-lol:

Need to stop playing with our food and step on their throats..

he has been pretty good for us, knowing his role and not trying to do too much. I love his energy, hard not to love the guy
Yeah the spot up 3 point shooter he is not. He just needs to be a hustle guy that energizes the team. I rather take a 8 point/6 rebound game than an empty stat one where he gives us 20 points.

does all the assists he has help?

It’s not like fox has shown anything tonight that equals being a point guard either.

Not sure why it’s so controversial to say castle has point guard chops.

Just because hes a 21 year old making bad mistakes doesnt mean him being a pg is out of the question. The coaches clearly view him as a piece that will handle the ball a lot even with fox and harper on board.
It's a cope, they see the vision and smoothness some other pgs have and assume it must be him playing off position. It's just that he's not that good at it. Not every shooter needs to be ray allen, not every pg needs to be chris paul

George Hill sporting a Hills & Dales Icehouse hat? Does he hang out there to pick up UTSA girls? LOL

Damn, OUIPUI in the crowd. Always loved George Hill even though he kinda flamed out in the last playoff series he played with the Spurs.

I didn't say he can't improve in certain areas.
Being a point guard isn't all about passing.
Our offense has ground to a halt on more than one occasion against good teams. At that point Castle gets desperate and starts trying too hard, which doesn't help.
Fox can get to his spots and collapse the defense against any setup while being a competent passer and that's what's needed the most.

Wants some Carter Bryant time!
Not in a close game you’re trying to win. He’s still way too chaotic and out of control on both ends. I like Mitches approach of drip feeding him first half minutes and then in blowouts in the second half. He’s gotta get under control which should come with reps.

For as much as I envy people born with the physical tools to play in the NBA. It must suck so much dick to age out in you mid-30s. Just sitting there and remembering the feeling of being able to play put a prisoner to your broken body.

Castle has set up his teammates pretty fucking nicely tonight, it’s absurd to see some of the comments criticizing him for playing that role

especially when him playing the sg position resulted in the pels playing better

Champagnie dribbling is basically a guaranteed turnover. It’s wild.

So tired of guys heroballing and driving to the rim totally out of control. Pass the fucking ball.
