Dude, it's not about following OKC, it's about taking a realistic look at the development timelines of actually successful teams in order to make a better judgment of where the Spurs are right now, and where they should be. It matters a lot that OKC wasn't this wire-to-wire juggernaut, and instead went 40-42 or whatever, in their first season together -- because the Spurs are on that "first season together" step right now. Therefore, it's irrational to expect that level of poise and execution from them.
It has the benefit of avoiding the wrist-slitting and cliff-jumping that Spurstalk came to be known for, but I guess it's just a bottle to a drunk at this point.
