Game Thread Spurs (27-12) @ Thunder (33-7) (Tue 1/13/26) [7:00PM CST]

I'll agree with that maybe it's got their attention a little bit, but I still doubt they're worried about a playoff matchup against us. Hopefully the Spurs are in their heads.
I absolutely think they're worried about matching up against us in the playoffs - at the very least, they'd very much prefer to face another team other than SA. No matter how you slice it, this team has competed (and obviously beaten them) very, very well. You'd be utterly obtuse as a player not to at least notice anything amiss in your matchup against a specific team which you can't seem to run over like you do everyone else. Even if they're not losing sleep over it, they're a smart team that knows they have to address certain issues vis-a-vis the Spurs.

Let's see what happens today. If SA wins its 4th in a row against them, then they know even more that their road back to the finals is the toughest if it goes through Vic and Co.

You know, I said we'd win all those previous games against the Thunder, the Lakers game before the NBA Cup semi-final too. The current form of the team has me down a bit, but I need to find that mojo/confidence in the team again. See if I can find it between now and game time and call this a win.

So any news on Vassell? Or should we just assume he's out 1/4 of the season like every time he gets hurt?
It's getting worrisome that we aren't really getting updates on him. When Wemby, Fox, Harper, etc. went down, at least we get the occasional status report.

It feels like the Vassell injury came out of nowhere, and they aren't really being forthcoming on when he is expected to be back.

Last update from a couple days ago is "rehab going well, no timeline for return": https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/basketball/news/spurs-devin-vassell-no-timeline-for-return/

Makes sense to me. When thinking about this game I think the chances of us winning are low, which is what makes that Minny choke so painful.

Yes we've beaten them before and yes we can beat them in any given night, but we have looked like a shell of ourselves since that Xmas game. Devin still being out, Barnes MIA, Harper and Castle falling off a giant cliff, Fox being inconsistent... it's all piling up and we could be in for a rough night. Wemby is gonna have to go nuclear and Fox will have to take over for us to have a chance. And hopefully Keldon and Julian can show up as well, I've got faith in them right now

We’ve said they weren’t winning for the last three games against them. I think these guys turn it up a notch when they’re playing OKC.

The one thing that encourages me about this team is that they mimic their opponents. They play great (usually) against the great teams and they swim in the mud with the lousy ones.

My head says Spurs get destroyed, but my heart thinks priding themselves in being the Thunder slayers might just be enough to hang with them and pull out another. That and the Thunder, as confident and veteran as they are, have seen absolutely no success against these guys. The only close game was tight all the way through. It’s not like it’s been a very back and forth matchup so far. The Thunder have yet to even hold a longstanding lead against our guys. Basketball is so much a mental thing and it’d be silly to think they’re certain of tonight.

I still have doubts, but for bright side sake, I’ll say Spurs 116-112. Wemby gets 37 and 13.

You had some very good observations after our loss Sunday. One of which was how Fox is being used. I kept asking myself 'where is Fox?' Is his backseat to Castle, and even Harper, as the pg by design? Why have him if he isn't our point guard? On another note, tonight we should play with no pressure on ourselves, just let it rip.
