Game Thread Spurs (48-17) vs Nuggets (40-26) (Thu 3/12/2026) [8:00PM CDT]

So we lost by 5 points to a team that has won a championship with a two time MVP without our #1 star and people are complaining ?
This is how I feel about it. I can understand the sentiment because it felt like the Spurs were in control for 90% of the game, then the dam broke but that shit happens all the time in the NBA.

My bigger concern is Wemby being healthy and, as others have stated, the increased load on Kornet. Luke definitely looks like he could use some time off, but instead he just got more thrown on his shoulders.

And despite the recent streaks and good play, I still caution people that a #2 seed doesn't guarantee anything in the playoffs. Every game is going to be a game just like last night. But if the Spurs don't make it out of the first round, it won't stop people from cliff-jumping.

Dude, do you have any idea how fatigue works at all? Wemby playing every other day in games THAT ARE FAR MORE INTENSE than regular seasons games is a completely different animal. In this home stand alone he’s had to miss multiple quarters due to getting hit in the face, hitting the floor multiple times a game. That shit adds up. Wemby has always always had conditioning issues which is understandable since this is the most he has played in his career. He is literally collapsing after games like we saw against the clippers. We are going to need our other bigs to step up. You just don’t get that needing 36 minutes (or more if we have games go to OT) every other day is going to be very rough.

Wemby is going to be targeted constantly in the playoffs. You just have no concept of all that compounding every night. Of course you hope he can get a lot of rest between series of we go that far but all this shit adds up. “Plenty of rest in the playoffs” is beyond idiotic when your example says even if every series go 7 he’d still get a lot of rest since he “only” would be playing every other day. Wemby isn’t even fresh right now, let alone “fresh for the playoffs”

Wake up
Playing 29mpg the whole season not fresh? Lmao

Lesson learned. Don't let up on a good team. You don't want them doing this in the playoffs. You want them learning all their lessons right now.

They were playing great. This one will sting a bit. That's good. They weren't going to go undefeated the rest of the season.

At the beginning of the year we were hoping to finish 6th in the west to make the playoffs. We are 2nd in the west and have beaten good teams. We are still a work in progress with 3 of our best player who have respectively 3 (2.5 actually), 2 and 1 year experience.

If we go to second round this year, I still consider that to be a great year. We clearly need help at the PF/C position, I lean more toward a real starting PF. An extra summer for our young guys to work on their jumpshot and we are Western finales bound next season

In fairness missing Aaron Gordon is big for the nuggets too, but not as big as missing wemby. This whole year is house money, but shoddy front line after wemby is a red
Flag. It’s all good.
