Game Thread Spurs (26-11) @ Celtics (23-13) (Sat 1/10/26) [7PM CST]

Great defense on sochan there. If that was luka and not white, he would have flopped and complained about a lack of a whistle

Offensive rebounding and some dogged defense keeping the Spurs in the game, tbh. Looked like the Celtics would be way more ahead than just five points, but I am encouraged about a few things - Brown is hitting some shots that might not always go in and I hope the Spurs dont keep missing open 3s. Also, Spurs much better with Wemby on the floor.

hopefully the self-proclaimed best player in the league is going to step up in the second half instead of sleeping at the 3-point line

Celtics shot 42% from 3 in the first half, and I would not say it’s because we were leaving them wide open. I think they are hitting well above expectation so far, hopefully we see a regression to the mean in the 2nd half (for both teams)

God damn, it's like the whole team had a spell cast on them. Absolutely nothing going on for nobody.

Vassell is clearly far underpaid .... :st-lol:

And on the positive side, we’re taking care of the ball. Only 4 TOV. Only 5 TOV forced on the flip side.

Battle of the overachievers. No one expected these 2 teams to be No. 2 East/West.

The more I watch teams with elite, complex offenses, the more I think we are a year or two away from executing more schemes. Compared to last year we've made great strides.

pretty terrible half, never went into transition, lots of wasted triples and horrible passes in the paint. Need to try something different in the next half.

And yet, at times good Sir, we look like shit........

We just dont have enough shooters... I love Castle, but I'm not sure he's improved in that area and if he doesn't he won't ever be worth a max (but he'll expect it)...

I understand the obvious lack of shooting puzzle, but I think the inability to get in offensive sets is the problem. Castle ends up shooting or going at the basket. Where is everybody else? The last few games have looked like these guys have never played together before. Still yet, still in the game.

wonder when any of this team's esteemed reporters are gonna start asking mitch about the embarrassing shooting percentages and what if anything they plan to do about it before the trade deadline

or we could get another question about keldon's llama and wemby's high-kicks that would be cool too i guess

Castle’s USG% in that first half is off the charts (and not in a good way). I don’t know if he’s looking for his own shot too much or because of a lack of movement (probably a combination of both) - but we can’t thrive on this kind of offense unless Steph goes on a heater (this is true of any player)

We need a power player centerpiece

then Harper

a 3D mainstay

then i would put Wemby after that

I liked the Harper, Waters, Johnson, Champagnie, Wemby lineup that helped us dominate on defense and compete on offense. Hope to see more minutes for this one. Keep Sochan glued to the bench except for specific defensive plays.
