Game Thread Spurs (21-7) vs Thunder (25-3) (Tue 12/23/25) [7:30 PM CDT]

Look a last time at the standing. Spurs 2nd in the west and 3rd in the league

It's not sure we get back to that this season after this tough stretch

Yeah, because we've peaked already without ever having everyone available and without minutes restriction.
Also played 12 at home and 16 on the road.
Interestingly the OKC game in Vegas counts neither as a road game or a home game in the standings (but I agree with you that we should consider it a road game from a perspective of the team even if the official standings don't read that way). I think we'll finish the year playing 40 home games, 41 road games, and the one "other" game.

Do you guys think wemby will be pissed at the Mitch and medical staff if he missed the 65 games requirements due to "injury management"? I think he will understand if it is a legit injury. But from his previous quotes, it seems like he feel he is good to go and with almost no pain at all. He has also said from his rookie year that he will want to get all the hardware like MVP, ROTY, DPOY.
spurs organization is trying to brainwash wemby into thinking individual awards doesnt matter and he better adapt to BS spurs culture and forget winning any individual awards.

The schedule has generally been favorable. We are a third of the way into the season but still have four remaining games against OKC three against Denver, three against Houston and a couple more against the Lakers. Still have two against the Knicks and Pistons as well.

And it’s telling that our losses have generally come against good teams. Minnesota. Lakers. Phoenix twice. Cleveland. Our other losses came against the Warriors, who are mid, but Curry went nuclear in both of those.

We’ve done a good job taking care of business against lesser competition. That gives us something of a buffer as we go into the tough part of the schedule. While we did escape some of those games against crap teams like New Orleans or even Brooklyn, stacking those wins was nevertheless very important

The next month of the season or so will be our best indication of how competitive this team really can be in the playoffs

They are probably right. Basketball is a team game not a tennis or chess.

Seems weird. After the group play, non Vegas teams get two games assigned, one home one road, and the semi finals teams move to the knockout rounds. The Lakers game was clearly a road game. OKC beat Phoenix in what was clearly a home game. Shouldn’t we have been the home team?

by the way has anybody realized that Mitch tried to find the 10th man in these last 3 games by giving each of them 1 game with consistent minutes throughout the game?

Wizards - Sochan: 15 min 3/2/1/1/1

Hawks - Waters: 17 min 8/1/0/2/0

Wizards - Olynyk: 9 min 4/4/0/0/0
If that's what he was doing, I think Kelly clearly looked best amongst those 3.

I think the league has just move to neutral site games being counted as a neutral site, neither home or road games. If you look at last year's official record, we also only played 40 home games and 40 road games, and the two Paris games counted as neither.

The Austin games count as home games because we voluntarily elect to play home games there.

KJ putting in that work in the painted area. Really impressive tbh. Love him in his new role.

I was messing around with stats on the nba app trying to identify players with high rebound rates and decent three point shooting (as potential trade targets ) and lo and behold, KJ was right up with a bunch of those guys. He’s really figured out his niche in this league (fingers crossed)

lets fucking go boys.

I'm somehow even more hyped about this one than the Cup Semifinal
