I am so excited about this game. Okc rested a bunch of players yesterday so expect a full cast. Looked very beatable though. If wemby doesn’t play it will be a real disappointment. This is probably the game they have the best chance of winning of the two. May best team win!

If he's not in France and didn't reaggravate the injury then there is no reason he shouldn't play tonight and christmas. And honestly no reason he shouldn't play regular minutes.
Because of the way this was handled, with an entry on tonight’s availability report, citing injury, he can be held out of Thursdays nat TV game without consequences, leaving after tonight’s game, and returning for Mondays game against Cleveland, also missing Saturdays game against Utah.

I can't see Wemby missing the Christmas game. It's like leaving a piece of coal for a kid instead of candy and gifts. Expect him to play tonight as well.

The FBC should be rocking tonight. This is the kind of game the Jackals were built for... I hope the arena is absolutely wild tonight and I definitely hope I don't see any empty seats to start halves!

Very pumped for this game. The team is being molded in fire right now. These are "just" December games but we are so lucky to be getting tests like this with what seem like elevated stakes, a rivalry feel, the entire NBA media apparatus watching (I saw a ranking of Christmas games earlier today, and SA-OKC was ranked #1 basically stating this is the kind of game that people are dying to see on Christmas... the hype is through the roof around this rivalry).

I think these two games are a valid of a measuring stick as you could possibly imagine. I think we are fortunate to get them (and CLE and NYK next week) all here at the start of trade season so the FO can get an early read on what kind of moves, if any, we might need to make.

GSG!

I believe Mitch actually only stated that Wemby coming off the bench is the plan "until it is not" which is a pretty meaningless statement.
he also said it's "specifically because his unique anatomy and situation" which indicates they are just extra careful with a 7'7'' guy

ok then trade him for a million picks. let someone else deal with the player who might have to sit out 4 games in the finals even though he says he feels fine

Yet another player with DVT. Bosh, Ausar, Wemby, Dame, and now Cam.

Makes me wonder if what is currently being diagnosed as an upper extremity DVT was more common in the past.

Also, I want to make it clear I'm not suggesting these guys should "play through it" because guys in the past did... but rather I'm saying maybe guys in the past had misdiagnosed issues they are lucky didn't cause bigger problems.

At the end of the day, as the value of these contracts get larger and larger it is not shocking that more care and precaution is taken. The same way you would care for a Ferrari differently than you would a Kia.
