Game Thread Spurs (19-7) vs Hawks (15-13) (Thu 12/18/25) [6:30PM CDT]

No one played more than 25 minutes against the wizards except Champ with 26. We should be fresh for this game.

Hoping to see a bigger sense of urgency in the 1st half than tonight.
In the third quarter. No mas giving up a good lead.

you can manage it for 1.5 years until wemby gets extended. then you gotta move one of Lauri or Fox.

however, the article explicitly says that the spurs had been linked "in the past." there's no indication that they are still interested. with how this year has gone, i fully agree with the "we like what we have" perpsective other than upgrading from biyombo

Just gonna leave this here. Don't think it happens, but he'd be such a perfect fit beside Wemby tbh.

He's playing great and it would take a lot.
As spurraider says, not worth it since we'd have to trade one of Markkanen or Fox in 2027.
I don't think our offer would even be good enough since all of our picks are average and we're obviously not trading Castle or Harper.

It would help to have a Giannis trade first to see how it resets the market. But I still think this ship has sailed.

Yeah that's why I don't think it happens either. Fun to think about though. Been brainstorming about how we can improve the 4 position moving forward, but our options are kinda limited. We ain't trading Castle or Harper for Giannis and CB is nowhere near ready yet. And the ATL pick doesn't look like it's going to be high enough to draft real difference maker. Might just have to run it back with Mr. 0% next year unfortunately.

Spurs are good enough to win the chip now with an upgrade at PF. It just depends on what the asking price is. If it's a Fox type deal where we're mostly giving up salary filler then do it and figure out who needs to be traded in a couple years and recoup some assets, Imo

It says „rival executives believe“ which means there is nothing going on, but assumptions.

Salary wise it would be Olynyk + Sochan with either Barnes or Keldon and picks. I doubt we trade 3 forwards for one and give up 2-3 firsts for a 1.5 year rental.

We don't need all star on PF. Just a solid role player. Real 6.8 plus average 3 pt shooter that can defend, rebound and will not be easily bullied in the paint on defense.

Mike Scotto , nuff said. He's the one that sucks, I thought we all knew that.

This is a first. A game thread before the end of the previous one.
Yeah, I really don't like those types of jinxes tbh lol

I'm still mad at my friend Nicky. In 2013, when we were up 5 in the finals the bitch fucking said the game's over let's go out already. I fucking looked at her with disgust. I still blame her for that shit. Whenever we watch sports together I call her the fucking jinx.

I hate the Hawks for beating teams they shouldn’t,like Bostonand Cleveland 5-6 times last year, and spoiling our picks.
I can't hate the Hawks after exposing the Sixers in the playoffs.
And while I don't like Trae's style of play, you can't hate his personality. He shows up in the playoffs and has won quite a few series as an underdog.
Silencing the Garden being my favorite.

well first we all collectively hated the hawks because we were rooting for their failure, since we had control of their picks from 2025-2027. when the dejounte thing imploded, it seemed like those were destined to be great picks and were seen as premium assets

however, since they were able to properly reset from dejounte, and were quite solid last year, the pick from them only wound up being #14, and they dont look like they'll be all that bad the next couple of years, so now we hate them for spoiling what should have been great picks lol
