Game Thread Spurs (19-7) vs Hawks (15-13) (Thu 12/18/25) [6:30PM CDT]

Let's put some things in perspective for us who went through the Time Duncan era:

- Tim Duncan had a career winning percentage of 71.9%
- This year Spurs: 74.1%

Doubt Mitch would admit but I think he likes bringing Wemby off the bench. Lets him give Castle and Vassell more usage early and establish their rhythm without having to worry about Wemby touches. Obviously when the minutes restriction is lessened he has to start, just an interesting wrinkle that Mitch is trying to balance seems like.

Nice bounce back after the Cup game tbh.

Still need to see some more movement when Wemby gets the ball in an iso situation. Too much standing and watching him work. Wemby needs to get into his action a little quicker as well.

But overall, nice road win (y)
Wemby starting his iso from the elbow instead of the 3 point line is so much smoother lol

The only FA I can think of that would probably be an upgrade at the 4 is Rui Hachimura, but the Lakers will have plenty of money to re-sign him with Lebron off the books this Summer. They won't let him walk imo.
He’s solid but probably will get more than MLE money. His defensive effectiveness really comes and goes. He’s ok on ball against big wings but against anybody reasonably quick he suffers. Can get lost off ball too

But he shoots well and is a big body

The way I see it, Fox is deferring a lot. He is trying to get everyone involved first.

Im not concerned at all as he is bringing that swagger and confidence to the team.
This is the first game he wasn’t hitting treys. He will be fine. It’s a real luxury we have two studs that can run the point when he has had two subpar games.

Daniels and Camara were two defensive specialists that played their way into big contracts in the offseason and now can’t hit the side of a barn. Always be wary of players that can’t score, no matter how good they are on defense
Let us pray this doesn’t describe CB

As crazy as it sounds, maybe Kevin Love tbh.
Is Kevin Love playing much? Does he have anything left in the tank? He kind of wanted to play for the Spurs year ago (before getting to the Cavs). He's a bit up there in age, though, and I'm not sure how much of an upgrade he'd be over Olynyk.

This is the kind of dominance a good team showcases. We’re becoming a good team, it’s so great to say once again!

Looked like he was playing earlier in the season but I honestly haven't looked. Only reason I brought him up is because I happened to catch a Jazz game last month and he looked good in limited minutes. I'll have to look at other potential options when I'm home tbh.

Also lets Wemby warm up against the opponent's second string players which indeed works well too.

Darn, oh well, that means they're going to be fired up to play the Spurs. That's OK, makes it even better for the young players to experience that type of atmosphere. Can only help them get better.
