Game Thread Spurs (19-7) vs Hawks (15-13) (Fri 12/19/25) [6:30PM CDT]

I don’t understand in the midst of winning streak, Sochan posted he’s “in the dark.” The team is winning! Be part celebrating and find ways to contribute instead of moping. Doesn’t help the team, but more of a distraction tbh
He's longing for the days when he was a tank commander and his fellow friendship crew all sucked along with him. Life was good, pay was high, and there was no pressure.

Now his friendship crew has outgrown him. They've elevated and he's left behind to suck alone. Instead of making new memories hugging his friends and instigating shit while getting blown out, all he has left is talking to Biyambo and McLaughlin at the end of the bench while everyone else wins games without him.

give me a break will ya.. he's 22 years old and has just been cut from the rotation in a contract year. Stop feeding into the narrative cycle. He's out, move on.

Bit overdramatic there, bud.

Still, the talk of them being a 'Top 4 seed' or a candidate to pull a Pacers-like run to ECF/F was bit overblown during the offseason. They still look like a play-in caliber team to me and are Jalen Johnson injury away from courting disaster. I wonder if their urgency to go after Giannis or AD picks up a notch if they screw the pooch during this upcoming brutal stretch leading to the deadline..

That could easily be 6-15 for them and it wouldn't be shocking.

Didn't Sochan just get a $200k bonus on the group project that he didn't even help with? What he upset about?

This is a bit harsh. I'm sure he hasn't been sulking or anything and tried his hardest. It probably didn't help to see his draft mates get traded in Blake and Malaki. That probably put a lot of pressure on himself thinking that he could be gone if he doesn't step up and play better.

He’s a professional with years of media training and 8 figures in the bank who isn’t supposed to publicly sulk from his position as an ancillary (if not worse) part of the franchise.

He’s just sealing his own fate with things like this. The only thing he’s supposed to do is shut up and get shot out of a cannon when his number is called.

And ultimately the simple rule is that non-rotation players are not entitled to these kinds of opinions. They should say thank you to the team that pays them to not help with anything whatsoever.

I'd play for 500K-1M a year and run through a wall if I had to. Most of these guys have it great IMO. Just being on an NBA team gives you access to so much more than any other league IMO. The NBA is an amazing league for players and all the stuff they have access to (training facility and trainers, medical, nutrition, good coaching etc.) gives anyone that is willing to work their asses off a good chance to succeed.

I hope Jeremy doesn't feel hard done by. He needs to get a different perspective if so.

I will say one thing, if Jeremy's not getting the offensive and defensive schemes, can he get extra tutelage from the assistant coaches or do they not have that kind of time to spend with him during the regular season? Can he spend more time studying to try and get down what he needs to do in games to stay on the court, or does that have to be applied in practice/games for him to learn it. Are these things he needed to learn during pre-season due to the limited practices teams get during the regular season?

that's poor people perspective.. i promise you sochan is thinking about all the money he's losing, not about the money he's making
