Game Thread Playoffs Round 1, Game 4: Spurs @ Blazers (2-1) (Sun 04/26/2026) [2:30 CDT]

Wemby should've sat today tbh. First career road playoff game after a significant head injury doesn't seem like the best idea tbh
He has to play to get the rust off. He would have still had rust had the Spurs waited to play him for game 5.

Keldon has always struggled against aggressive lengthy defenders.

At least Fox isn't completely shitting the bed. Didn't have Kornet going 0 for on my bingo card either.

One thing that is clear is that Portland is out coaching our coaches. We won game 1 off the talent of Victor and game 3 off the talent of Steph and Harper. Tiago and co. are getting the most they can out of there team and our coaches are not.

That felt like our worst first half of the season ngl horrible time to do that.

We’ve proven we can come back so let’s get our heads out of our asses and make some shots. Single digits by the start of the 4th and it’s anyone’s game

Man we need to run plays for our shooters Champ and Vassell. And Fox needs to be shooting more midrangers.

Harper and Scoot were going at each other all 2nd half in game 3 then both decided to come out and be ass in game 4 😂

Barnes looks beyond washed. Looks like Celtics Shaq lumbering around out there. Kornet having a bad half but he deserves an off game as he's been aces all season. Keldon can't bully ball the Blazers size which limits him if he isn't hitting the corner 3. Fox looks like a guy who is a regular season all star but playoffs role player.

It's going to take such a monumental flip for them to win this game on the road in a desperation game for Portland down this much at half. They can do it, but if they do it's a damn minor miracle.

Champ has played 98 minutes in this series so far.
Attempted 6 (!!!!) threes.

Barnes has played 37 minutes, attempted 4 threes.

Mitch is using them as a decoy and not even trying to use any of Champs gravity running around screens to generate space.
Embarrassing coaching. Said the same thing after G3, but apparently he's got no intention of making any adjustments.

Sorry but I think it’s crazy to blame this on the officiating. It hasn’t been great but we’re getting our shit pushed in and getting thoroughly outplayed. Biggest issues:

- Bench has been non-existent and actively terrible. We’re only -3 with Wemby on the court but Kornet has been miserable. Keldon is having one of the worst series I’ve ever seen for a guy who’s supposed to be the 6th man. Harper hasn’t done a thing so far. A Carter Bryant 3 is the only thing we’ve gotten out of our entire bench, and that’s supposed to be one of our biggest strengths.

- Offense has no gameplan whatsoever and looks completely lost. Portland is getting away with having Jrue guard Wemby 1-on-1 and it’s working.

- Sort of related to the point above about having no game plan, but Wemby needs to get his shit together on the offensive side of things. His shot selection has been awful and his jumper looks terrible. Going to be hard to win if he continues to shoot 30% from the floor, especially considering it appears like our role players have no interest in contributing whatsoever.

Wemby has to be much better but these are the sorts of games Fox has to assert himself in. He’s playing fine, but the team looks shook. His role is to steady the ship. So he needs to assert himself not continue to stay in his lane.

About 2 months. Lot's of rest, stretching, and ice. It takes a long time for it to go away and the dr advised me not to do any extended strenuous activity. It was probably another month before I really started working out and being active again.
What usually causes it? Just running too much, or running while in pain and not stopping to rest it?
Have been watching the playoffs? Phoenix has been by far the worst team with the nuggets the 2nd worst.

That said this team isn't ready to contend. They're just beginning to figure out how to navigate a playoff series. Way too many guys are too inexperienced at this level.
I don't want to lose to a team that has similar playoff experience. Correct me if I am wrong, but Jrue and Grant (was Grant on the Nuggets Championship team?) are two have that have had extensive playoff experience (that actually played for their teams during post season games in a Championship run? Was RW on the Celtics when they won?)

I assume the people blaming Fox for this one just have some kind of autofill on their keyboards and aren’t actually watching the game :st-lol:
Fox is not the problem...but he also isn't the solution. And when you get paid 50 million a year you should be the solution.

Maybe by not being the solution he is actually the problem? :st-shocked:

He has to play to get the rust off. He would have still had rust had the Spurs waited to play him for game 5.
Sure, but it's a home game with the home crown behind him. And also mexican voodoo stuff to make him play better tbh

Even Wemby’s interior D is not all there today. He may be cleared to play but he seems to still have stars going off in his head!!!
he's just off sync, he'll time it better in the second half

Fox, Julian and Steph are only ones playing good on O.

Rest all crappy crappy crappy…. Wemby kornet Vasell Kj worst….

If they blow us out today we damn well better return the favor in SA.. We fucking better NOT go back here down 3-2..

What’s disheartening is the Blazers are getting great production from different guys every night. We have been missing production all series from some of the guys who got us here

The Spurs' talent doesn't fit as well and the Trail Blazers are well suited to defend them.

Still, for a team that talked a big game this season they've been mostly pathetic in this series.

I hate these 2 PM games…. That too in west coast.

Schedulers are out of their fucking mind…

Tbh people blaming any individual player for this terrible performance are off base. Nobody looks focused out there.

Shaq was right for once about Wemby deciding to take a jumper on Jrue instead of taking his ass to to the paint.
