Game Thread Spurs (58-18) @ Clippers (39-37) (Thur 4/2/2026) [9:30PM CDT]

One thing that did not work last night: Hydra Lineup. This is something Mitch and the Spurs still have not been able to find a way to really work. Those minutes last night are when LAC made one of their biggest surges.

Maybe it never works, or maybe it needs a little more development time from the young guys and the right pairing of other players… but right now it’s definitely a negative (it’s a horrific -26.8 in 24 minutes this season).

It’s also okay if it never works and we just continue with the 3-guard rotation… but the visions of running all 3 together have not looked good this season.

It’s an entire end of the stadium that is designed like one section that is very steep and no opposing fan gear or cheering is allowed. IIRC you are in Germany? Are you familiar with BVB’s Yellow Wall? It’s kind of like that
No, I'm in AU. Thanks for the explanation. Sounds really sick. I just did a search and saw some pictures. It seems really steep up at the top. Still wading through articles as there's not that many good pictures from the ones I've looked at so far.

Also, in the NBA, who gets to choose which basket the start the game on? For example, does the opposing team or home team choose? Looking at last night's game, it seems the Spurs got to finish the game not playing against The Wall. Doesn't seem like that big of an advantage if the away team doesn't have to play on the side of the wall at the end of the game. Then again, a game can be lost in the first half, so maybe The Wall can help the Clippers get off to better starts. Really interesting thing, though.

When we win a championship, this org is not going to let him go. Fox won’t want to go either. He’s happy as hell and always smiling ear to ear on the bench.
I don't think people realize, Fox was playing for Sacramento for years. He is not going to want to go back to a Sacramento, especially after being on the Spurs for a short time compared to his Kings time.

Keldon's three point jump shot form is almost exactly like SJax back in the day, 2002 and 2003. And same high arcing too. And same jersey number too. Similar dawg mentality as well. He just needs a felony and a few speeding tickets.
There is some similarities (high arc), but Stephen's form and shot was better.

Great win from the Spurs last night. Really good win.

I don't remember them using it much. Have they usually been outplayed when running it most of the time? It might just be the combination of the other two players, but I also believe if they were to have used it a lot more, the players would have learned to adapt and play better off of each other. I don't think it's a big enough sample size. I was hoping Mitch tried it more thoughout the season.

Yeah, it’s like I was telling Sugus - forcing all three on the floor together shouldn’t be a priority. The value of that group comes from ball handling and initiation, and you get more out of it when those responsibilities are staggered instead of overlapping. When they share the floor, you’re compressing their strengths instead of extending them across the full 48 minutes. It’s the main reason this has been such a successful season. I think the vision of having all three play together is the old mindset of thinking the best individual players should play together on the floor.

I see playing all three the same way as playing the French Vanilla lineup - a thing you try once in a while to shake things up and confuse the opponent.
