Portland actually has a bunch of nice players on their roster but it never really felt like they coalesced and the whole feels less than the sum of its parts with them, on both ends of the floor. on paper they have very strong defensive personnel (Jrue, Camara, Clingan, Thybulle) but their team defense is not all that great. Offensively they also have nice pieces but they are one of the worst shooting teams in the league
This should be an easy win for the Spurs
I keep hearing this, but the Blazers had the 4th best defense in the league post ASB. Top 3 in order were Thunder, Hawks, Spurs. The Blazers are a legit very good defensive team.
By contrast, the Spurs had the highest offensive rating post ASB, the Blazers 22rd. If the Spurs play to their potential, the Blazers should have a hard time cracking 110 points in any game.
Other potential Spurs playoff opponents, post ASB
Nuggets - 1st offense, 17th defense
Wolves - 21st offense, 13th defense
Thunder - 14th offense, 1st defense
Celtics - 6th offense, 6th defense
Pistons - 12th offense, 5th defense
Season long
Spurs - 4th offense, 3rd defense
Blazers - 20th offense, 14th defense
Nuggets - 1st offense, 21st defense
Wolves - 12th offense, 8th defense
Thunder - 7th offense, 1st defense
Celtics - 2nd offense, 4th defense
Pistons - 10th offense, 2nd defense
