Portland can hit a lot of 3's in a hurry, like Phoenix found out, need to be sharp on the perimeter.

That is simple....do not leave your man on the perimeter to double in the paint. Also, put you hands up on all shooters, no clean looks please.

Would also argue Splitter played a significant role against the Mavs. They had no answer for his playmaking in the high post in the fourth quarter of game 5 tbh.

Splitter was definitely the MVP of that series. BoBo had a nice shot though. God I love watching that 2014 run. Not a dull moment.

Spurs owning the Suns was a given for me back then tbh. I was also younger back then and didn't feel as vindicated when the Spurs won those series, though that 08 series when Duncan hit the game-winning three was the first time I was ever hyped after a non-championship winning game (other than game 5 in 05). Beating the Mavs in 2010 game 6 was up there too.

Yeah then only to get swept by the suns in the 2nd round in that 2010 playoffs for their due revenge for 05,07 and 08 losses. I remember poster from spurstalk getting confident against the suns because spurs owned them in 05,07 and 08.

Sweeping the "This is gonna be fun" Lakers while our frontline took turns bending over Dwight Howard and Timmy laughing at him from the scorer's table was one of my favorite moments, tbh.

Also 2013 was the last time both the Spurs and Lakers were in the playoffs IIRC.

For all the pessimism for Denver being on our side of the bracket, getting the Blazers is just as big of a break the other way. Spurs should take care of business in 4 or 5 games.

If the Nuggets-Wolves series goes 6 or 7 games, the Spurs are in excellent position to take advantage of the winner.

That’s interesting. I thought Drexler and Co would’ve more wins over Spurs. I hated that Blazers with Porter, Herb Williams, Detlef, Duckworth (RIP), Cliff Robinson. That’s a very deep roster, and Rose Garden was very loud. Damn this series brings back memories.

We left Clingan wide open the last time and didn't seem to care he made a couple.
That was without Wemby.
Clingan takes those top of the key 3s, doesn't go to the corner often.

I hated them too!! The Rose Garden was one of the hardest places to play; those were some deep and talented teams. They have a great fanbase....I hope they get a championship one day, but just not at our expense.
