The last thing I wanted that draft was Zaccharie Risacher (or Tidjane Salaun) but now starting to feel sorry for that guy.

I still can't believe the Hawks got intimidated by Sarr and his camp into passing up on him for Risacher...How can you allow a nobody foreign prospect in the weakest draft in more than 20 years to walk all over your franchise? They are lucky Joe Dumars gave them a mulligan with that horrendous trade..

well we supposedly got intimitated by maxime raynuad from drafting him last year as well in the second round.
So who knows.

We should not expect much in terms of losses as the Hawks embark on a home-heavy (9 of 10), soft schedule for the next 3 weeks with the 2 games vs Bucks being the most crucial ones during this stretch..

Without bias and objectively speaking, how would you guys rank the following: Risacher, Carter Bryant, and Salaun?

Hawks missing the playoffs is obviously the most important, it would be nice if Hawks pick is before Clippers pick. Clippers pick is going to OKC and OKC will be strongly interested in screwing Spurs' plan.

This is what I was just thinking. But I could see them leapfrogging the Spurs position with their assets as soon as they see the Spurs being one spot ahead.

I could really see them trading up to draft Nate Ament, after their failed experiment in Dieng.

Most of Spurs Talk wanted Risacher over Sarr.

I haven’t watched beyond the box scores but Salaun seems to be playing a bit better this season. Looks like legitimate progress but he was always a project.

Risacher probably doesn’t have the right backcourt to play as well as he did next to Trae. So hard to tell what this kid is going to become.

Too early to tell on Bryant but he’s looking a lot better but arguably a project just like Salaun but maybe slightly less of a project.

I’d rank Risacher, Bryant/Salaun tied. But I think it’s a pointless rank until you see what these 3 bring next season. Anybody could jump the other two.

If Bryant takes a jump next season that would be great. Doesn’t even need to be a huge jump.

This is correct. Fortunately, word was the front office didn't; they had Sarr #1 on their board, Sheppard at #2, and Castle #3 (with Risacher nowhere in sight).
What? So they would have taken Sheppard over Steph? I can understand Sarr, but I wouldn't have thought they'd have Sheppard ranked over Steph.

Not sure this is correct. Spurs may have further baited Houston who already was thinking Sheppard was a better fit, into taking Sheppard by putting out that they had interest in Sheppard.
Spurs had a scout assigned to watch Castle at UCONN so they were all in on Castle.

Yeah, it seems like the Spurs were in on Castle for a very long time. I feel like the signalling that he did during the draft process indicated the same.

Sixers are freefalling. Losing by 15 to Pelicans? Morey really nuked the vibes and momentum of that team by shipping off Mccain..They weren't this bad even without Embiid & PG early on..

Also, I think VJ Edgecombe is the most overrated rookie of this class. Dude is a high volume/minutes chucker..

What VJ showed early is legit. He's just a rookie and therefore inefficient. I wouldn't write him off yet.

VJ had hit some clutch game winning shots so far....definitely deserved to be 3rd pick IMHO.

The rookies are still so early in their career, we need to give a few more years to see how they turn out to be.
