That LLM is LLLame

He has really turned a corner this season.
90% of the professional athlete commentators are awful, in every sport. Why do we tolerate it? Every great radio or TV call in history has been from schooled, trained, quality broadcasters.Atrocious work from Candace Parker there, as usual.
History’s greatest highlights are getting nuked by shitty broadcasting these days.
Refs will get them through to the playoffs tbh. Doubt this is his last year anyway, he'll absolutely do a retirement tour.Blazers about to beat Lakers, 128-106 with 3:40.
I hope LeBron's last NBA game isn't a play-in loss, or do I?
Candace Parker is going to be crammed into our lives for the next decade. Looking past the fact that she doesn’t have any insight into the nba, having never participated in it, which makes her opinion no more inherently valuable than guys who played on good high school teams - her craft absolutely sucks. She doesn’t understand the role. She takes over play by play, no restraint whatsoever. Her cadence is terrible for the job - just contrived speech patterns with no authenticity. She can’t work with other people and just rambles. She doesn’t understand that the job is to relate the experience on the court to people at home and thinks people just want to see her expert insights like she was podcasting.90% of the professional athlete commentators are awful, in every sport. Now, of course there’s exceptions, and they can certainly add analysis value or entertainment in post-game commentary.
But there’s always too many voices on a game call, and, majority are useless despite always talking.
At least I don’t have to hear “Mama, There Goes That Man” or “Hands Down, Man Down” or the chirping twixt Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy, whom I actually miss, but who allowed his moments of insight to be overshadowed by the Jackson gimmick.Candace Parker is going to be crammed into our lives for the next decade. We know why she got the job and we know why nobody is calling her out on it. Just the inertia of where we are…a person with no qualifications pretending to be a grown up and we have to pat her on the head.
There are other drivers of why sports media sucks, not just this clunky attempt at inclusivity. Perkins and Steven A are there to get social media activity, for example. And guys like the dipshit GM for the warriors got hired as a TV personality because curry makes a lot of 3’s and for some reason that means I have to hear from the guy who hired him.
no focus on talent or what made for a good broadcaster for like 50-60 years. Just make that a secondary concern. Sounds great.
I'd rather hear iconic gimmicks than people trying too hard and failing at it.At least I don’t have to hear “Mama, There Goes That Man” or “Hands Down, Man Down” or the chirping twixt Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy, whom I actually miss, but who allowed his moments of insight to be overshadowed by the Jackson gimmick.
Yeah the trope of “they were an interesting or charismatic player so naturally they should be on tv” is always a problem and has been for a while. This isn’t just a “women are bad” topic. Mark jackson did a shimmy dance as a player so of course he’s some kind of expert communicator. Those things are totally connected right? At least I don’t have to hear “Mama, There Goes That Man” or “Hands Down, Man Down” or the chirping twixt Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy, whom I actually miss, but who allowed his moments of insight to be overshadowed by the Jackson gimmick.
I had hoped Grant Hill would be a little better than he is. But he’s solid. Reggie is Reggie and is Ra Ra and caricature over all else.
The worst of it is mediocre can work if there’s chemistry. There’s zero chemistry. Absolutely zero with any of them.
Half don’t do homework. The other half maybe do, but suck at conveying it.
I’m of the opinion, no matter how unlikely, people who rely on repetitive gimmicks will never improve while those actually trying, whether in excess or absence, with time, their standard of delivery can improve, same with quality of content. Again, it’s not something that happens often, but Jackson thought that shit made him cool. He was fundamentally uncool, for a myriad of reasons, but he had his head so far up his own ass on those one-liners as analysis or as the street tough guy going toe to toe, he was never ever going to give it up.I'd rather hear iconic gimmicks than people trying too hard and failing at it.
The new generation of play by play national TV announcers is so bland, tbh.
At least Amazon studio crew seems to be doing well, they'll replace Inside the NBA crew as the most popular NBA TV personalities.
To each their own, I didn't take his commentary too seriously and found it entertaining. Same goes for JVG.I’m of the opinion, no matter how unlikely, people who rely on repetitive gimmicks will never improve while those actually trying, whether in excess or absence, with time, their standard of delivery can improve, same with quality of content. Also, LMAO at “iconic”… Nuisance Nonsense at best.
And hoping the Bucks pull their head of out of their ass in time to take that 10th spot from ATL. Hawks 12th in the east would be glorious.Would be great if Hornets can go on a run (except against us) to overtake ATL in the standings too.
