NBA 2025-26 NBA Thread

I'm looking through the ESPN story of Chris Paul being sent home and as I scroll down, I read that Elden Campbell died. Wtf another one from the past

This was my first thought, or maybe as a consultant just to grab a few vibes. We still have a lot to unlock with our guard play and rotations, and CP could be a huge asset.
Is he going to work via Zoom? He needs to make up his mind first on how he's going to handle his career going forward, unless he's willing to move from LA he's going to miss out on a shit ton of great opportunities.

Lebron staying in the game during a blowout to get his 10th point thus keep his streak alive. Checking out as soon as the 10th was scored.

Shameless stat padding or he's earned it, let him have his legacy points?

CP3 apparently waived by the Clippers. Does he retire now or go somewhere he can actually ring chase? Also shows the Clips might just blow it up now. Good news for OKC unfortunately .
Thrown out on the street like a dog. Damn.

For what CP3 did for that franchise, that's just cold.

Shams reporting the Giannis and his agent are now discussing his future in Milwaukee... basically saying he wants out. Wonder where he ends up. OKC can make a great offer without even giving up their core guys which is scary but I don't see them messing up what they have.

Knicks are interesting but they blew their wad on Bridges. Cleveland is an interesting destination and they can offer Mobley or Allen + assets.

Houston also is another interesting destination as they are one of the few teams that has the picks and players to swing a trade.

SA of course can be in that discussion but it would almost certainly cost Castle and Harper and I'm not willing to pay that price and I hope the FO isn't either no matter how enticing a Wemby/Giannis pairing is

I'd be shocked if Giannis isn't a Knick heading into next season tbh.

If you are Orlando, do you offer up Banchero?
The issue is that Banchero's extension doesn't kick in until next season and they can't really match those $54M Giannis is on unless it's Banchero+Suggs.
Which is probably the best offer the Bucks will get if Magic are even thinking about it.

Sounds very clipperish

Paul and his leadership style clashed with Lue and the Clippers, according to sources, who told Charania that the 12-time All-Star was vocal in holding management, coaches and players accountable.

Clips hate accountability.

Ouch Giannis left the game with a non-contact leg injury. Was able to walk off the floor on his own power but still might really put a wrench into offers the Bucks get.

EDIT: It's a right calf strain per nba.com.

Cavs are struggling, Blazers just beat them in Cleveland.
Another winnable game for us, tbh.

Said 2 years ago Cavs should have traded Garland and moved Mitchell to the 1 and put size in the backcourt next to him. Garlands value with his injuries is now probably the same as Ja Morant, Trae Young, LaMelo Ball. All injured no defense playing midgets except for LaMelo who’s an unserious street baller.

Giannis is starting to get these injuries more regularly. Plays a physical style of basketball too. Might start to break down by his mid 30s. Who knows.

Nah, pack up him and his chicken nugget–gobbling ways and send him to Brooklyn for a grab bag of picks and players. Owning a team means keeping it ice-cold. He’s under CONTRACT, no No-Trade Clause in sight—so why roll out the red carpet? They’ve been signing paychecks for his ENTIRE FAMILY for over a DECADE.

I appreciate what CP3 did for us last season.

But as somebody that’s hated him for most of his career, the Clippers waiving him on his farewell tour is objectively hilarious tbh.

I always assume the worst. Watch them magically look like last year's Cavs against us and then revert back to this year's Cavs against their next team. Kind of like how Curry looked like 2015 Curry two games against us and then followed those games with 9 points against the Pelicans.

Dude is a clown and fake

Not sure if people have forgotten or if it’s not known anymore, but Paul was objectively an oft-quarrelsome teammate, and he challenged coaches and management many times, demanding trades from multiple places, always getting in teammates faces, etc. And that’s after he was voted as the leagues dirtiest player for many of his early seasons. He was one of the original nut-punchers, even going back to college where he was suspended by the ACC for his antics.

Phenomenal talent, who throws teammates under the bus, often was only out for himself from a popularity, money, role, power standpoint, and who never even wanted to be on the Clippers in the first place, and then demanded a trade from them when it was advantageous.

Best player in franchise history or not, he’s had a humbling on its way for years now.

Clippers have been stinking on ice and I'm sure he was getting pissed and was saying so, but this ticked off the surly, non-speakers and non-leaders on the team like nephew and Harden, so he had to go. No accountability.

Yup, all of this.

And nobody should have known this better than the Clippers org. Why they still signed him then be seemingly surprised that he's still an asshole is hilarious tbh :st-lol:

Here’s the thing, you can sort of, for a bit, get away with being an asshole if you can perform the same things you’re demanding. I saw it the final years in Phoenix. He would scream at Ayton about D and effort and then be absolutely butchered by teams switching on to him. Luka destroyed him in 2022 playoffs and Murray did same in 2023. Murray wasn’t even shooting well but could get downhill and to the lane at will and averaged almost 6 ppg more vs Suns than regular season despite shooting lower percentages from range.

I can’t even imagine how awful his defense and effort is now 3 years later.

Nobody, especially not Strip Club Stoners like Kawhi and Harden, wants little man raging at them while a turnstile to traffic cone on D and effort.

You could have bet me anything you wanted before the season that after 20 games CMB would be at 40% from 3 and I would said you're crazy and gone all in...
