NBA 2025-26 NBA Thread

Clips lose to the Hawks. I like it even with the pick swap.
Doesn’t OKC own the swap rights with Clippers on this pick, if not the pick outright? That’s exactly what the NBA needs is OKC ending up with Peterson or something like it.

BREAKING: The Dallas Mavericks and owner Patrick Dumont are expected to fire general manager Nico Harrison at a 10 am central time meeting on Tuesday, sources tell ESPN.

Took long enough.

What now?
A compent GM would try to get whatever value he can for AD/Kyrie and try to dump Klay.
Mavs own their '26 pick and it's their only hope of getting the hlep Flagg needs.
If they try to compete and end up as a failed play-in team, he'll be in the same situation Luka was while not being as good.

Fuck. Now AD gets traded and Dallas pivots to a tank. Lets hope they don't land a super high pick. Only silver lining if they tank could be them making PJ Washington available.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching OKC skull F the Warriors tonight.

Only got to see the 2nd qtr. All i needed.

Fake dynasty can't die soon enough tbh.

I just don't understand why did the Suns waive him.
Yes, his contract is horrible, but it's done in 2027.
Like this they have $19.4M dead cap over the next 5(!!!) years.
They weren't competing short term, just an idiotic decision.

As for the Clippers, expected outcome. As I've been saying for a year now, West too many old teams and some will inevitably break down.

Beal out will be a blessing in disguise for the Clips. He’s so bad defensively it’s comical, then when you factor in his decline in athleticism and offense, he’s a true net negative guy.

Downgrading from Powell to Beal has really hurt the Clips, and Collins can’t offset all of that.

Seems like Kawhi has one of those mysterious injuries again with his ankle with no return timeframe. Looks like Newphew is ready for another vacation year tbh.

Suns waived and stretched him because they were 2nd Apron hard capped for a useless roster spot and continued existence in the 2nd Apron would both basically eliminate any ability to make trades and use the limited amount of draft picks they do have, plus it saved them like $100 over the long term by dropping so far under the 2nd Apron.

I get that, but I'm sure they could've done something to move under the second apron without handicapping themselves for so long.

Not really. Allen had a long term contract nobody really wanted after a down year. They couldn’t redirect Jalen Green in deals after a bad playoffs and him starting a near Max. They were effectively stuck. Keep him, a malcontent, untradeable, and be caught in 2nd Apron and Tax Hell, or, waive him, stretch him, gain fiscal and flexibility freedoms, and generate a better attitude amongst the core players. On the court seems to indicate they made a good call. Mood is so much better. Allen is on a heater. Green is vibing even amidst injury, and Mark Williams is a big piece of their future who they couldn’t get without waiving Beal.

It's way too early, but OKC looks a few tiers above everyone else.
Other than injuries, I can't see them losing unless Jokic does his thing and his supporting cast doesn't suck.

Half the board was screaming for Ajay Mitchell on draft night so of course we trade the pick and end up with some nobody that's never even gonna sniff the league.

Cheaping out on 2nd rounders is gonna cost the Spurs eventually tbh.

It already is tbh.

Joker with 52 after 3 quarters on insane efficiency. I don't want to hear about any other guy being the best player in the world tbh.

Totally agree with this. This is such a tough spot to be in if your a Doncic fan. Shai could be on 2 rings, 2 MVPs, 2 FMPVs by the end of the season.. Nicp Harrison might have already dented Luka's legacy wasting him 2 prime years with that trade especially with how well that Mavs team matched up with OKC

Shai got his token MVP. He’s all done. Nobody in the media is rooting for his continued prosperity like this.

6th in pts per game
1st in rebs per game
1st in asts per game
4th in FG% (top 3 are all blue collar lob catchers)

No injury issues, pounding stats so effortlessly, he just give off the vibes that he can average 40/15/15 if he really want. Its like Giannas and Wemby and KD has to spam their "ultimate skills" to put up points. But Joker is just simply relying on his passive skills (BBIQ) which make his able to put up all stats so effortlessly. And his style can easily play to an advance age without any obvious decline

tbh Joker's advance stats already exceed MJ and everyone else. If he can get 4, 5 rings, I think he will enter GOAT conversation.
