NBA 2025-26 NBA Thread

OKC is overrated, tbh.
Yes, they'd have the best record in the league regardless of their schedule, but 24-2 is too much, they're not on the level of the best teams ever.

Hawks and Warriors are the teams with the best record they played on the road.

They're yet to play the Nuggets, 4 games.
Played the Rockets once at home, 2 more games coming up.
Just played the Spurs in Vegas, 4 more games coming up.
Also have 3 more games against the Lakers and the Timberwolves each.
Haven't played the Pistons, Knicks or the Celtics.

Out of their 56 remaining games, 22 will be against the teams that currently have 2nd-8th best record in the league.

The best comment I read was that their 4th-12th man rotation is stacked, but 2nd and 3rd option aren't anything special and if SGA isn't dominating, they can't make up for it.

OKC is going to go 76-6, tbh.

Six Losses: 1 against POR, 5 against the Spurs. Then we'll sweep them in the WCF.

Then OKC will be forced to sell off their players and become our G-League Affiliate.

GSG

Twixt it and Rob Reiner news my mood is 180 of the amazing mood from just 24 hours ago.
Damn, RIP Meathead. WTF is someone gonna murder him and his wife for?

EDIT: Oh, sounds like it might have been their druggie son who did it.

Overrated is probably a strong word relative to Net-rating (+17.0) accumulated in those wins up until they lost to us. Though, yeah, i do think they're on 'fake pace' to beat Warriors 73-win reg season record given their remaining schedule. If they lose another game between now and Xmas, they should give up the chase. It's extremely taxing and counterproductive in the big picture. Presti & Daignault deep down wish they are out of it soon so they can focus on repeating instead.

Most overrated organization in the NBA. Considering the high dip in lottery they had in '20 and '21, they badly mismanaged their assets in chase for an imaginary 2-timelines..Should have gone all in on veteran players and established stars while Curry is still this good. Gonna be so ugly down there when Steph is gone.

I hate that we allowed them to beat us twice. Such flukey shit.

Seen the consistent mediocrity of this Warriors team, the 2 losses at home are looking bad in retrospect. I might add the second half collapse vs Cleveland as Spurs' second worst moment this season (CLE just lost to Hornets at home and to same Dubs sans Steph/Butler/Dray a week ago). We legit could be comfortably the 2nd seed if we went 2-1 in those games

That Suns/Lakers game was pure comedy tbh

the OKC thing is going to start getting weird and unsustainable IMO.

Because guys like Wallace and Mitchell will end up losing a fortune if personal wealth by being buried on a deep bench longer than they would on any other team and in Wallace’s case have his career possibly shortened being used like an old school NFL running back meant to just run into the line 25 times a game until they’re retired at age 30.

So if they get Peterson or AJ how is that going to work? They’re going to just be rotational pieces instead of making All NBA by the time their 2nd contract rolls around?

It’ll go beyond just the generational guys. What kind of lottery pick will want to sign up for being an accessory on someone else’s team? The agents are I’m sure already aware that any guy placed on that team will be disqualified from awards and max deals.

This isn’t like existential dread for the thunder and they’ll be just fine. But if the get some crazy pick from the clippers I expect some drama about guys wanting to go there. Winning is great. But it’s not more important than 100 extra mill and being a living legend to the players or their agents.

The current Pistons-Celtics game on the COCK is getting chippy, but in this Charmin-soft era, it’s nothing like the intense rivalry of the ’80s, when Thomas said Bird would be just another guy if he were Black and Laimbeer was trying to Murder Larry Bird.

Same Dynamic, Champion vs Upstart

Non bad Boys vs Celtic PRIDE?
Dunno did the Bird era Celtics have a nickname like SHOWTIME lakers DETROIT BAD BOYS or Jordan and the Jordan-airs?

Man, these Monday Matchups on the COCK are STRONG.
The Rockets and Thunder have been neck and neck from the opening whistle. Seeing Kevin Durant still so effective on the perimeter at 37 is a revelation for me.

This is turning out to be the happy ending ever
A tripping foul on Houston, up by 1 with 2.3 seconds left in the 4th.

I must say that these enhanced viewing modes on THE COCK and the besos cock logo PRIME are pretty cool.

Enhanced Vision on Peacock, Xray and their version of Xray on Prime.
Get your shit together Disney. ESPN APP? Nothing.

Rockets playing 4 on 5 on offense out there during the clutch because Amen is too scared to even look at the basket, but then I gotta listen to how he's a top 20 player in the league.

Sophomore Castle is already better than him.

When you see the reality of the shit the league allows the OKC to get away with defensively
and then see the ticky-tack shit the refs called to save Denver's ass with 2.3 seconds left in the 4th
and then again in OT calling a shove by Thompson on Murry when he was going over and back regardless

Makes me wonder why I even watch the game at this pont

So gay

Agreed, when you think about it, without Aaron Gordon the Nuggets have zero rim protection, and Stephon would relentlessly drive to the basket against Jokic. Thompson is disappointing. Nikola can’t defend the rim without resorting to fouling, and they let the Joker get away with a lot, make no mistake. You gotta admit Thompson is way better on Defense.

to sum up
COCK STRONG match ups on Monday
I liked the shiny things on the app
REFS and the NBA are nice
and @DAF86 said it all about one of the Thompson twins
