If you ask me, they seem to be viewing his as one of their top two core players based on the amount of usage he's getting. Not sure if they truly believe in him as a PG, or if this is a test that they have him doing to prove he can play PG. My thoughts are, he wants to play PG and his representation have been telling the team that, and maybe the Spurs FO has given him a chance this season to prove it and/or to see if he can do it. That's probably incorrect, but that is what it seems like from the outside looking in. it just doesn't make sense why they're doing what they're doing with Fox and D-Harper so far this season.
