Trade Spurs Trade Ideas

Castle is not getting traded his previous injury please people put down the tinfoil hats
It's not a tinfoil hat. Anytime a desirable player sits when you approach a deadline you pay attention. Other GM's are reportedly paying attention. While it's not likely, it is notable..

We need to prioritize adding shooting over a 3rd string C.

If Kornet or Wemby go down, we're fucked anyways tbh.
Would be dumb to not be competitive even if Wemby goes down. Our guys need playoff experience.
And would be even dumber to lose a playoff series if Kornet goes down and we don't have a competent backup.

Once again I'll suggest Day'Ron Sharpe.

Better to be screwed a little bit.. like getting a pinkie in the stinky which is what someone like RWIII would do...than to be screwed a lot...like getting blown out by Dredd (if you know you know)...which is what happens if Biyombo has to play. :st-lol:

With all due respect, I'd rather keep Waters than try for Bitadze. Not enough there. Might help the Magic but wouldn't move the needle for us, especially since the Magic have buried him on the bench. He didn't even play against Cleveland. That says a lot about his value.
Bitadze is signed for next season too on a declining deal. He'd be a luxury as a third string C and they could flip him next year.

Magic are $5.6M above the tax. A way to put them below it using Spurs and Bitadze would be:

Spurs trade Biyombo and Waters for Bitadze
Magic trade Bitadze for Waters
Third team trade nothing for Biyombo

Add the necessary second round picks and cash consideration to make the trade CBA legal and worthwhile for the third team.
Would be 100% for this if it only cost a second round pick. Bitadze's legitimately good as a defender, prevents you from getting completely fucked if either Wemby/Kornet have an ankle sprain causing them to miss a couple games during the playoffs or back half of the season when everyone's jockeying for playoff positioning, and is dirty enough to retaliate with an elbow to the head if some guy like Lu Dort decides to start cheap shotting Spurs players. That's getting a lot if all you're giving up is a second rounder and a guy playing 7 minutes per game shooting 32% from 3 this year.

That's what the Kornet signing was for. They've treaded water when Wemby has been out. God forbid if he's out for a long time, I think they can still sneak into the playoffs.

But with OKC looking vulnerable, Denver with a ton of injury concerns, and nobody worth a damn in the East, you gotta go for it this season. And that means adding shooting, shooting, and more shooting tbh.

Goga once attacked an opposing player during a FIBA tournament: https://www.indystar.com/story/spor...attacking-opponent-at-eurobasket/65474601007/

He also got into an altercation with an assistant coach: https://bleacherreport.com/articles...-goga-bitadze-fined-by-pacers-for-altercation

He also once got ejected for head butting GPII.

I share all this to say that @Exstatic probably thinks that this means he is not Spurs material. Maybe he'll also have some sort of racial conspiracy theory as to why Goga hasn't been banished from the league.

Goga is someone I wanted to target as a back up center before adding Kornet. I think he may be overqualified for the role we currently would want him for. But if Orlando was looking to move off of him for some number of 2nd's, I wouldn't hate that deal.

Personally, I'm in on RWIII. Both can't and doesn't need to play every single game. Probably wouldn't receive too many long term or expensive offers because of the injury concerns. Is he a tax payer mid-level guy this summer? Would anyone offer full mid-level? Genuinely wondering what his market is this off season.

He’s not Spurs material because his career 3G% is like 23. He doesn’t really fill the boxes.

It would have been interesting if Goga had been the one that Crazy Eyes punched at practice. I think Portis would have been the one to be hospitalized.

That's not what we are trading for. We're trying to get a Kornet/Wemby insurance, not a stretch big.

I'm sold tbh. A real eastern euro goon to be hands and feet on Banes and Brooks next time they line step against the spurs.
