Game Thread Spurs Silver & Black Open Scrimmage: 10.4.25

Well it ended like shit but I thought it was a decent game overall. Better than the all-star game for sure.
 
Bryant is rawwww. Everything we’ve seen so far is indicating processing problems. Another IQ rehab project but we at least have grown ups around now to help.

Shooting. F%*!ing blech.

Vic looking …big. Solid frame coming into the year. He tried that Giannis battering ram move a couple times. I hope that’s part of his deal now. Just devastating.

kornett’s going to make a difference this year. Was a little low on him being the only move of the summer. But hard to argue with the move itself.
 
Wouldn’t blame him. That was rough.
Minix should be cut for that rendition of friends in low places.
 
Victor is looking aggressive and strong. League is in trouble this year.
 
Dude, imagine him bulldozing Chet :st-lol: I'm here for it.
 
Speaking of streaming, any thoughts of where to watch Monday, Wednesday and Friday on Directv. I live between Austin and SA but think my local cable channels are Austin. Sometimes we get lucky. Wonder if Amazon Prime will show them. It says CWSA but I know the CW on my cable is an Austin channel. Fingers crossed it'll show somewhere watchable

That’s because the hard core fans were the ones at the bottom. It was first come first serve for those that got tickets and so arriving early helped get lower level seating.
 
I only was able to watch the first couple minutes. Wemby looked good. Castle and Bryant bricked badly on their 3s. Kornet is good
 
I think we'll see a lot more Wemby post up moves this season and bumping off defenders with his shoulder like he did to Kornet in the scrimmage. Shooting will definitely be an issue with this team though.
 
DJG looks smooth tbh, specially his driving.

He definitely can contribute if he can get playing time
 
Can't take too much away from a scrimmage, but the overall bad shooting stood out - hopefully it's not a trend setter.

Besides the missed shots, I didn't hate Bryant's game, he could definitely play some minutes with the main squad into the season. He looks up for the challenge.

Wemby............. What can be said. I'm fuckin busting watching this guy, it's insane to witness, insane that he has a Spurs shirt on. Bring on the season!:st-hungry:
 
Would've loved to see Castle shoot better - worried it will be more of the same as last season. His form looks unchanged

His form is theoretically viable even though he has kind of a weird launch/leg motion thing. But it’s the same form that produced one of the worst shooters in the league so…I don’t know. I’m not sure what Castle is.
 
This was one of the more fun scrimmages I've been to.

Bryant - yeah, he's raw but needs playing time
DJ-G - has the ability to carve out a place for himself. Will make mistakes but is smooth as glass. Has chutzpah
Castle - work on FT's, Mr ROY
Kornet - wouldn't be surprised if he's a starter not long into the season.
Barnes - Jedi veteran
Minix - would be great to see what he can really do but probably a victim of log jam.
Waters - could be a solid backup but playing behind Barnes and Champagnie will be hard to get playing time.
Wemby - as advertised (against his own team, anyway)
