News Spurs Media Day: 9.29.25

So based on this video, Fox is participating in training camp at least to some degree despite the injury that will hold him out for the first week or two?

Not the most inspiring shooting sequences tbh

I've been saying this. He's probably just not going a 100%, but he's there which makes sense cause he feels he's ready to play anyway.
Not going to lie, I didn't know who that was.

"Tim Martin is a world-renowned basketball trainer and motivational speaker who has helped 21 players get drafted into the NBA."

Wemby follows him on IG.
Wemby worked out with him prior to his rookie season. Honestly it's just great that we added a lot of competent coaches instead of people with no track record like Jimmy Baron. I assume Martin is a player development coach, which this team really needed. Then we got Sweeney and Williamson and we also added Rashard Lewis. Coaching staff is stacked.

Nice to see them trying double big stuff. Houston having success with Sengun/Adams last year was interesting, hopefully the Spurs give it some legit looks for use against certain match-ups.

If Korndog can hit 3s like he did early in his career, than a Fox/Harper/Castle/Wemby/Kornet lineup becomes viable, imho

it would probably need to be matchup specific. yes wemby is rangy, but if you are playing teams that have guys like Durant or LeBron at the 4, could have some issues defensively with him having to dance on the perimeter some. and to this point, wemby hasnt proven to be able to punish being guarded by wings. if anything, that's his weakness.

but yeah if playing a team where the 4 isnt a huge threat off the dribble, like if the rockets have Jabari, or the lakers have Vanderbilt out there, it would be a nasty lineup defensively

even if the "2 big" thing with Zollins didnt work, Wemby was still an impactful defender. he wasnt blocking shots at quite the same rate as he was as the lone big, but was still a menace

1st preseason game Monday.
