THE BOYS ARE BUZZIN!!! Steph with that absolutely unnecessary mean mug
There is no cakewalk game on this team based on their performance on previous seasons. Unless they show big improvement this upcoming season.Injuries already? Spurs can’t afford a mediocre start to the season. The opening schedule is a cake walk.
so wemby went from 7'3 235 last year to 7'4 240 this year
castle from 6'5 210 to 6'6 220
champagnie from 6'8 210 to 6'7 215
ingram still 6'5 235
vassell still 6'5 205
keldone from 6'5 215 to 6'6 215
sochan from 6'8 230 to 6'8 225
Not meaningful, but I think it's cool how we have numbers 0-14 covered on the roster, as the ones missing (00, 6, 9, 12, 13) are all retired. I've always dug how in soccer (at least international play), for example, your starting XI is often just numbered 1-11.
Just posted some interesting stats in the Sochan thread... but could it be that HB40 is the key to our defense?!?I love the emphasis on D. yes please.
As long as you don't start jerking off to it, it's fine tbhdon't post the Bowen kick or Sugus will start crying

I would argue that this is the perfect chance for castle to outperform vassell and replace him in the SL upon the return of foxLikely a heavy dose of copium, but he sounded like he was trying to send a message to the medical stuff during his presser. The whole 15mph thing felt, to me, like he was saying that he's in fine form to start the season and there's no need to act out of an abundance of caution (which is probably what the medical staff is doing/saying). That said, we needed him to have a training camp because he played 5 games with Wemby last season. You'd think that it would have to be enough of an injury to warrant him not getting those reps in/learning how to play with Vic. I would have been much more ok with this if Dylan wasn't also going to miss training camp (which makes me wonder when have this many players been injured during the offseason?)
to start the season, does that mean we see something like
Castle/Vassell/HB/KO/Wemby
Castle/Vassell/Sochan/HB/Wemby
Castle/Vassell/Sochan/Wemby/Kornet
What that does mean is that Vassell isn't leaving the SL anytime soon. Which is another unintended negative to these injuries.
It would be hilarious if the Spurs just randomly and arbitrarily changed Wemby's height every offseason. One year he's 7'7". The Next he's 6'9". His true height is a mystery!I'm surprised to see Wemby (in theory) grew even higher, as his previous measurements should've also come without shoes as per the new measuring rules. Did he say anything about that on the interview? Even his growth plates should be plenty closed by now...
That is actually something I'm lowkey concerned about. If this is just about Wemby downplaying is height, Durant style, it's totally fine. If he's actually still growing, as some I've heard/read somewhere, then it's kind of concerning. Dude is almost 22, he shouldn't be still growing, and his height is (at best) at the limit of what is believed to be physically safe (blood clot may suggest beyond that). Another growth spurt may be indicative of an underlying problem. He looks incredibly proportionate and fluid, thus it's not obvious there's a growth issue like in other cases and, in absence of credible evidence, given my lack of knowledge on the matter, I'll refrain from judgement. Yeah this is something I seriously wondered about before we drafted him. Like is it possible he has some kind of rare condition where he just keeps growing indefinitely and has to retire at 25 because he's an 8-foot tall spider human? Okay, I'm not TOO worried about this... but the thought has crossed my mind. That is actually something I'm lowkey concerned about. Not to be Armchair Endocrinologist here but he doesn't seem to show signs of classic growth hormone excess like Andre the Giant. Whew! lolYeah this is something I seriously wondered about before we drafted him. Yeah, we can all agree he doesn't look like an obvious case of gigantism (which is why I mentioned he looks proportionate and fluid) but he shouldn't be growing at 21 either, so let's hope those reports were inaccurate. Not to be Armchair Endocrinologist here but he doesn't seem to show signs of classic growth hormone excess like Andre the Giant. I think gheorge muresan had a benign tumour in his pituitary gland which caused an excess of growth hormones, which was why he grew to be 7’7” when both of his parents are normal human sized (I recalled them both being under 6’). Muresan eventually had to surgically remove the tumour to stop him from growing or something crazy like that.Yeah this is something I seriously wondered about before we drafted him.
