Game Thread Spurs (62-19) vs Nuggets (53-28) (Sunday 4/12/26) [7:30PM CDT]

Spurs have a decision to make first 5 min of the 3rd. Do we want this or NOT?
My guy we are likely to play the bench in the 2nd half lol. We've run an offense in the first half that was more to get Barnes 17 than anything else. Do you really not know the answer to that question yet?

Nothing says champion like avoiding a team that could beat you. Beat them or get out, you weren't meant to win.
It’s not so much about avoiding a team in a vacuum, we may still see them regardless. It’s more about making the difficulty of getting to the WCF even rather than extremely painful for us and extremely easy for our rivals

Team was taking some lazy threes early, seemed like not getting hurt and getting Barnes his 17 were higher priorities than winning.

Finally starting to take things seriously those last few minutes but the defense has to improve.

Jokic at 18 minutes already, if he doesnt start the 3rd quarter we will know the Nugs really don't want to win after all.

You like our chances against the full Nuggets squad right now?
Because some posters here acting like they just want the nuggets to be in okc bracket so that okc doesnt have a cakewalk path to wcf. But the reality is they just want yo avoid the nuggets in round 2.

It doesn't help Castle is playing his worst game in 3 months. The move was to rest him and play Wemby 20 minutes. But If Wemby wanted to play he would have played. It just sucks that whatever happens here, it seems like we allowed this Denver team to get into our heads.

I didn't think this game could negatively effect confidence going into the playoffs...but this is demoralizing and makes it 100% clear we only have 2 NBA bigs actually capable of boxing a G-leaguer out.
I mean most teams only have 2 nba bigs. Any team start playing 3rd string bigs and it gets ugly.

I don’t understand how it’s “wrist cutting” to be seriously annoyed/frustrated about potentially losing by 20+ at home to Denver’s 3rd stringers…and simultaneously giving OKC a free trip to the WCF while making our path more difficult.

Like obviously this game isn’t make or break for the season, but it’s a pretty big swing for the postseason. Seems pretty normal that people would be pissed off :st-lol:

Then you should had been trying to get that first seed instead of fucking around early in the season. Now you want the easier path but you gave up some winnable games early on.

If your team can't beat the fucking Nuggets, then you're not a champion. Simple as that.

Imagine losers who think they're champions while trying to avoid playing a specific team. :st-lol:
I agree to an extent. But you would like the easier path. However, if they match up this well with us, Denver would just beat us later in the playoffs. Who knows they might beat OKC?

Its funny because the same people telling me that Wemby is for sure going to have a long 15+ year career are the ones worried that he might die in a 7 game series with Jokic.

And fuck this rest Wemby bullshit, it's a rib bruise and he looked fine against the Mavs. If you want to keep him healthy, you avoid Jokic in the playoffs.
Nah, the 22 that averaged less than 30mpg needs to rest before 6days off. Bruises are big deals, don't want too many miles on that engine. He's not a kid anymore

Burn those fucking headbands
When I saw the headbands I knew they were in fuck off mentality for this one.

Obviously they dont care who they play in the 2nd round. Maybe that's for the best, but in every other aspect of life you're way better off strategizing and planning instead of just fucking off and winging it. This Nuggets team will be a nightmare for either OKC or the Spurs in the 2nd round while LAL or Minnesota would be huge matchup advantage Spurs.

Just don't understand not having coaches on staff who analyze and study these things and plan accordingly when you have a rare opportunity to pick your opponent.
